@tennisreporters Much been made of Fed's new racquet but Cibulkova just switched to Dunlop M4.0, has wider head, stiffer 4 more power & bit heavier

Well, she used to play with the 6.0, which was a 105 head and extended.

I don't see how the 4.0 would give her more power, she would have more control with the 4.0

But I've been wondering if it is just a PJ.

Martina commented that her racquet was longer than normal... Does that mean her 4.0 is a custom length? Was Martina just looking at specs for her older racquet?

I remembered when Martina was reading from the "Other Company's" player equipment list during her warm up against Aga, it had old info. She said Cib was playing with the M 6.0 Lite. It's definitely at least the M4.0 painjob but not sure if it's the actual racquet...

I would guess she is playing with a custom frame.. extended length with a 4.0 paint job.

That would be my guess too.

The S 6.0 Lite is surprisingly low powered. Not sure about the M 4.0.

She did really switch to the M4.0 but extended for her.

Once you extend the frame, the specs are no where near the retail M4.0 I am guessing.

    Stock Specs:

    Head Size:
    100 sq. in. / 645.16 sq. cm.
    Length: 27in / 68.58cm
    Strung Weight: 11oz / 309.01g
    Balance: 13.12in / 33.32cm / 3 pts HL
    Swingweight: 315
    Stiffness: 68
    Beam Width: 23mm / 24mm / 23.5mm /
    Composition: Graphite/Biofibre
    Power Level: Low-Medium
    Stroke Style: Medium-Full
    Swing Speed: Medium-Fast
    Racquet Colors:
    Black/ White/ Green/ Silver
    Grip Type: ViperDry
    String Pattern:
    16 Mains / 19 Crosses
    Mains skip: 8T 8H
    One Piece
    No Shared Holes
    String Tension: 52-62 pounds

I am sure she is playing a frame with a higher swingweight and static weight. Not so sure this stock frame would hold up to pro level pace and spin. Adding length to the frame would add both SW and Mass.

She also seems to have lead at 3 and 9 o'clock positions.

The head looks bigger than a 100.. but I bet it is my perception since she is only 5-2. I bet she does have lead.. no way you can stay with these hard hitting young ladies with a 11 oz frame with a SW about 315.

I would think with the extra length and the lead.. she is playing a frame that is 11.8 oz or better with a SW about 330. The ESPN folks indicated she was playing with a frame that had a larger head than her last one. I am guessing they are wrong. Looks like a stock M4.0 with extended length and lead at 3 and 9.

Her frames are cut to the desired length during manufacturing.

They still must weigh more and the SW and Bal can't be the same as the specs for a retail M4.0. The head also looks more like a 102 to 105 like her last frame.. does not look like a 100 to me.

Looks exactly like the M4.0 to except for the length.

    That's because she's four-foot-nothin. A kid's 8U racquet would look like a Weed next to her.

Poster 17 nailed it. Dominikia is not 5'3", she's closer to 5' tall, no inch.
    Like AmandaCoetzer.
You seen the photos of D standing next to LiNa at the trophy presentation, both wearing their tennis shoes. Li is 5'8", and D is at least 7" shorter, since she doesn't slouch, and Li is very relaxed.
And oftentimes, a player hit's harder with a smaller racket because the smaller racket can be swung faster, and the smaller racket has more control, allowing the player to swing faster and keep the ball IN.
As for buying D's racket....what for? Are you 5'1" tall and 120 lbs.?
