Is there away way to get this thread stickied mods? The new users won't get our real slam jokes otherwise.

I usually don't like reviving old threads, but this one should be revived until the end of time. It's just pure win.
The epicness of this thread in tennis history is bigger than that Borg McEnroe tiebreak, the Edberg Becker rivalry, Pete's 7 Wimbledons or the Wimbledonfinal of 2008

Will Ralph finally get a chance to complete his real career grand slam this year ? We need to wait until August to find out.

What Career grand slam? He's never even won a Slam?

A career Slam is winning 4 Cincinnati titles.

I have no idea. This trainwreck of English grammar has intrigued (and in consequence, stupefied) many a brave man, only to remain indecipherable.

    Alas, we may never know.

Nothing much. At lease Cincinnati is not the "Crappy Slam" that IW is turning out to be.

Oh boy ! Wish Ralph had picked another slam to win.

IW surface now much faster than the Real Slam...everyone gets the runs! May be fast enough to "eliminate" Ralph's time violations.

IW-Miami- the 2 masters events that are the least dependent on tennis skill to win.

Cincy-the master event that requires the most tennis skill to win.

Wow! Are you saying that the two Andys ( Murray and Roddick) have more tennis skills than Novak and Rafa??

Whoa ! Cincy is the Real Slam and nothing can change that.

So what if Nadal can't win the Real Slam ? He is looking good and is currently a lock to win the Crappy Slam.

    Qualies and early rounds

I had a great time in the past watching the qualifiers and early rounds. Seating is outstanding on the field courts during those days. Close enough to study grip/footwork etc.

Have had some great times there.

Why is Cincinnati the real slam, Toronto is made from the same surface, and it is in a different country for once.

Canada is slower than Cinci. I don't know if it's the balls or what, but it's well documented. Cinci is currently the fastest masters tournament and doesn't allow one-dimensional pushers to win it (for the record, Murray is a pusher, but he isn't one-dimensional).

Well nadal is not one dimensional or a pusher, but even if he was there is nothing wrong with that, and besides it is still good enough to beat Fed, he will win cinci soon enough
