Cincy Court Speed Makes Good Tennis

OK, the court speed at Cincy is what the entire ATP and WTA should be aiming for. You could actually attack the net and have some success while still having lots of baseline rallies. Also, when the players like Federer and Monfils play at a fast level, it makes it much more fun to watch. WTA is much improved because it shortens the rallies and we don't end up with 3 hour WTA matches with more service breaks than holds. In fact, Cincy could probably go about 1-2% faster to be even better.

This is about the best modern tennis has to offer. USO, USO series and all indoor tournaments in fall/winter should pay attention and balance the conditions to allow attacking players a fair chance. Sorry, but we should never have another hard court match that last 6 hours of baseline grinding like the AO final between Djoko and Nadal. They both played slow between points, were hesitant to come to net, and just ground each other down.

It is much better to have tennis be a game of shot making ability rather than a running game. Of course, it is still plenty physical as Ferrer seemed exhausted in the final, and the Sharapova vs Ivanovic match was long and physical. So, the grinders have a shot but geez, between poly strings and slow surfaces, the attackers have little chance except at Cincy, Paris, Dubai and on grass.
