I was wondering if anyone knew of any grass and/or clay courts in and around the San Francisco bay area? I'd like the oppurtunity to try different surfaces.

Home Court Tennis Academy in Dublin has an indoor clay court (and an adjacent court made out of Premier Plexipave). For the most part, they're used for students, but I think they open them up to the public during the weekends. And, yeah, since I'm talking about only two courts here, they can get crowded. I've never been there, but I remember the owner telling me that he would have players pay $30 to play there all day and they would rotate in and out between sets. He also said that the most popular time is in the morning, so you may be better off going during the midday.

It's an acrylic hardcourt surface that they use at the Pacific Life Open in Indian Wells. I think they also have them at Stanford if I'm not mistaken.
