I think it is time to give Sala another shot. I was also high on him early in the year but then got trounced by Jake Albo of FSU which looked bad at the time but Albo has since had done pretty decent wins.

UNC tomorrow. If Schnur doesn't play then there is a shot at the upset. But he probably will since he played doubles vs GT.

It will take a monumental effort to win. 1,2 and 6 look to be pretty set for UNC assuming Schur plays. That means Clemson will have to take doubles and 3-5 which will be tough to do especially doubles. Win doubles and there is a slight chance.

Yes it's a very important win for them. They are tight on the borderline of the doubles tournament right now.

Poor from Ansari. Steiro is not good enough to deliver a 2 and 2 beatdown on him. Or shouldn't be at least.

Really hope they play this out to give Maden and Harrington a chance to get big wins. Only ones who decided to show up today and against UNC's strength too.

It is being played out. It's now 6-0 and yeah they are all ready #8 so top 12 not so ambitious. Dom Maden with the first set. Would be great for him to get this win

I'll get to the rest of the team later but wow what a win for Dom Maden. Individual tournament not out of the question now.

He hasn't "sucked". He has stepped up from 6 to 4 and has had a mediocre record. His game is high risk and his shots are very explosive in nature so it can lead to some inconsistent results.

Harrington is now 54 in the singles rankings. Dom Maden takes a big leap up to 68 which puts him nearing the the individual tournament. That abandoned match vs Adam Lee which he led 3-1 in the 3rd probably would have done it.

Harrington and Maden now at #17 in doubles.

hmm on 54 and 68 it still gets tough
are there automatic qualifiers for the individuals or just by top64 rankings?

If I remember correctly every conference who has a ranked player in it gets an automatic qualifier. The automatic qualifier is the highest ranked player in that conference. After that it goes by rank. Usually only like 5 or 6 players who wouldn't normally get in get those bids if that.

Things actually dicey now. Harrington couldn't close the 2nd set. So GT has to win all 3 3rd sets on 1-3, but still they have a chance.

I was worried about Vandy sneaking up there so good that they lost to Florida.

So Clemson actually looks pretty good to host now. The teams immediately behind are done with their seasons. The only real threat now is actually Stanford if they were to somehow upset USC or UCLA in the pac 12s. But the point difference between Clemson and Miss State is so small that something stupid like Texas tech falling could cost Clemson. Just beat Notre Dame and everything will be assured

For Cal to move up much they would have to beat USC or UCLA as well because after getting a 1st round bye in the Pac 12 tournament they'll face a team in the 2nd round (Utah/Wash/Oregon/Arizona) that won't doing anything for their points.

Clemson 16 now. I'm worried about that drop from Texas Tech. The points separating Clemson and Miss State are so slim. I imagine the committee will pair Clemson vs Miss State either in Clemson or Starkville depending who is 16 and 17. But that by far makes the most matchup sense.

Harrington/Maden now at #9 in doubles. Serious chance for an All-American spot now.

Harrington up to 51 in singles. Should solidify his place in the individual draw especially with Felipe Soares rising to 64, who Harrington beat earlier.

Dom Maden down to 76. Only chance for him would be for Clemson to beat Notre Dame and then Dom pull at upset in singles vs Virginia.

Just ran some numbers for the 1st go around for the next rankings and Clemson is in 19th now. The Illinois loss counts another .1 since they dropped a few spots and the Wake loss counts .2 more since they dropped 7 spots. Columbia probably won't change too much because most of their good wins are against teams that are done except for Michigan and TCU which both rose several spots in the rankings last week which is really what kicked them up to 16th. They've only got the 1 loss to Georgia so they don't get hurt with any losses.

Clemson needs Wake to come up a few more spots to lessen that loss. After the first go around is done and they are re-run I'm sure it'll change some but not sure how much yet.

Like you mentioned if you beat Notre Dame you get 16th easily if you lose you'd need some movement from teams you beat.

    16 Columbia - 37.53
    17 California 37.08
    18 Mississippi State 36.85
    19 Clemson 35.96

The Tigers mix up doubles. Johnson/Ansari move up to #2 and Augusto goes to 3 to pair up with Kennedy, Dudley dropped out. Probably a good move. Dudley and Augusto lost most of their matches this year so that needed to end.

Also I see Lett in at 6. Lett has done nothing to show that he can play at #6. I hope he does not play there vs Notre Dame.

Johnson and Ansari flip as well

I see the ACC page has Harrington down 2-0 in the 2nd while the Clemson live scoring has him up 1-0.

Clemson twitter also says he's up 4-0. I'm hoping that's correct because this would be a very bad loss in his attempt to get into the individual tournament

    ""Highlights"

Really it's just Clemson players jogging lazily to the net to shake hands after winning match points and coach speak from Coach McCuen.

I hope they put together a real video for the Notre Dame match win or lose

Must win match tomorrow vs Notre Dame if Clemson wants to host. Last time out Notre Dame beat Clemson 5-2. But there will likely be all new matchups tomorrow. Notre Dame has switched Monaghan and Bandy since the last time and Clemson has switched Maden and Harrington and Johnson and Ansari and a new #6, so not one matchup will be the same.

Big chance for Maden to get a win over a top 25 player, a win that would likely put him into the individual tournament.

Notre Dame is favored at 1,6. Clemson favored at 2 and doubles. 3-5 will determine this match.

Notre Dame has switched Monaghan and Bandy again so there will be 1 repeat matchup from last time, Augusto vs Bandy which was won by Bandy 10-8 on a super tiebreaker. I still see Lett listed at 6, going to conceded that position I guess. Maybe he has a miracle performance in him.

I swear they better not have live scoring issues today. Clemson isn't doing stats of their own today because the SID that did them is actually with womens tennis and he is far better than the one assigned to mens tennis.
