My Dad used to wear a tennis glove all the time. You needed it on hot sweaty days when the leather grips would turn to mush. With the new grip types and overgrips you really don't need them any more. They are pretty good in the winter when it can keep your fingers from going numb from the cold when playing tennis.

I met a 3.0 man who took up tennis after many years of baseball and softball where everybody wears batting gloves. He wears a batting glove on his racquet hand because he sweats alot. Works well for him.
