Coke preferably though I'll drink any cola drink really. I find Pepsi a little bit sweeter.

When I need to strip the paint from my car, I generally use Coke - it does a cleaner job, however, to destroy the eveidence that the tooth fairy doesn't really exist, I've found Pepsi is quicker.

    Coke or Pepsi

way back when in the Bronx there was never a doubt. Coke was 6 oz. and Pepsi was 12 for the same dime. coming back from the school yard winter or summer nothing like 12 oz of Pepsi to finish the day.

Coke, pepsi, it's all just sugar water. The only soft drink that would be nice to try is the original dr pepper, which is just not made anymore.

OK, I'll play by the rules. I voted for Coke, but Root Beer is my favorite soft drink. I didn't think I bragged about how much beer I can drink...

Newcastle is a solid nut brown ale, not the best I've had, but certainly not the worst. That said, I love English beers above all other beers. Give me Samuel Smith Oatmeal Stout or Imperial Stout and I can't be happier.

Newcastle's not the best but its widely available and less expensive than Samuel Smith's. So, it's usually a Bass or Newcastle, and if that fails, then I go straight for Leine's Weiss, which is fantastic after a hard match (and despite now being owned by Miller).

Is it true that Laver used to slam a beer before a match? Or is that just a urban myth from the 70s?

Newcastle isn't bad but you can't beat Worthingtons cream flow or Carlsberg!!

@wright, your right that English beer is good, Hobgoblin and Spitfire is also amazing even though it has a racist advert, you know the one!!!

    Happy days!!

Worthingtons OR Carlsberg, they're totally different!

Morpheus, my favorite Leine is Leine's Creamy Dark, a very nice nut brown ale. Liam, have you heard of Whitstable Oyster Stout? Another fine English beer, but still doesn't stand up to Fuller's Londer Porter, which is like drinking liquified chocolate truffles- in a good way. Young's Luxury Double Chocolate stout is also very hard to beat, too many great English beers to name.

    @wright,

I think that I might of heard of Whitstable Oyster Stout why do you ask?
Fullers is also very nice, I am also a big fan of Youngs, that is like treacle and so Smoooth!

Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale 2003 is a real mans beer, you need to get your hands on that one, it's what I call A TASTE SENSATION!!

Also the Belgian beers are enjoyable they are like 16 percent though if you can handle that!

Who's ever heard of RUM and PEPSI or JACK and PEPSi?

There's a reason they call it RUM & COKE, Jack @ COKE, Crown & COKE, Johnny and COKE, Jim and COKE!!!!

Pepsi is worse then RC Cola and the Sam's Club Cola.

    "Coca-Cola came to Colombia
    Seeking lower wages
They got just what they came for
But as we turn the pages
We find the workers didn't like the sound
    Of their children's hungry cries
So they said we'll join the union
    And they began to organize

So Coke called up a terrorist group
    Called the AUC
They said "we've got some problems
    At the factory"
So these thugs went to the plant
    Killed two union men
Told the rest, "you leave the union
    Or we'll be back again"

    Now Coke did not complain
    About this dirty deed
    Why give workers higher wages
When Coke is all they really need
    They phoned the AUC
Said "thanks, without you we'd go broke
    And to show our appreciation
Here's one hundred cases of Coke"

    (Chorus)
The baby drinks it in his bottle
When the water ain't no good
    The dog drinks it
But he don't know if he should
    Some folks say
It's the nectar of the Gods
But Coke is the drink of the Death Squads

    Well the workers wouldn't take
    This situation lying down
    Some went up to Georgia
Said "look what's happened to our town
    You American workers got downsized
And as for us we just get shot
And those of us who survive
    Our teeth begin to rot"

    (Chorus)

    Well now that's the situation
    What are you gonna do
    'Cause death squads run Colombia
And they're paid by me and you
We can let Coke run the world
And see what future that will bring
Or we can drink juice and smash the state
    Now that's the real thing"

    (Chorus)

Not coke or pepsi. All every soda is composed of is: carbonated water, high fructose corn syrup, coloring, and some "natural" or artificial flavors to vary the flavor.

    I'll take water.

Of course I can tell the difference. I like Pepsi more, but am on my way to giving up on both of them. They are nearly equally bad for health. Good old drinking water is just fine.

Being a Kent man, I must mention Spitfire's sister, Bishop's Finger.

Back on topic, I prefer Pepsi, had unlimited fridgeloads of the stuff in our break room when I was volunteering at the World Twenty20 last month.

    Both represent empty calories.
Interesting why Coke temporarily changed its formula in 1985 in what is largely regarded as one of the biggest marketing gaffes of all time.
Pepsi was conducting a "taste challenge" consiting of small sips of Pepsi and Coke. Because Pepsi is slightly sweeter, it was winning and heavily promoting the results. To answer, Coke came out with a sweeter "New Coke" formula that brought out howls of protest from Coke drinkers, and the company was forced to go back to its original formula.
