Does anyone know if college teams can have team sponsorships from a racquet and/or string company? Also, if so, how much (discounted pricing/free gear)? I saw the Northwestern men's team and all the players except for one was playing with a Prince, strangely all played with the O3 Hybrid Tour.

I would imagine that a team could get sponsorships from companies (other collegiate sports do it). I don't how many players would go for it though. Most players are already set with their racquets before they go to college. My coach would give us contacts for companies that would give us discounts on racquets and gear while we were playing. (The discounts ranged from about 30-50%)

if you are on a D1 college team, you're going to get a racquet sponsorship. if your top 20, you're gonna get a full sponsorship. clothing is what the coach has a deal with and you get so much. For Michigan its Adidas, for Georgia its Nike, etc.
