I barely knew Nole was out there. The camera was on murrays facial expressions and body language the entire match. What little background and analysis of novaks strategy and history. Very odd.

It was pretty obvious that Djoker was able to take it to another level of aggressiveness that Murray just could not muster. Murray's "strategy" just seemed to weather the storm and hope that Djokovic cooled off, increased his unforced errors and decreased his high first serve percentage.

But playing "not to lose" usually won't make it to win a major. Over the two weeks the best just get better, and it's rare to hoist the trophy just by playing good defense.

So I think analysis of failing to see a spark of more fight from Murray was actually spot on.

You actually are right, however, that they could have gushed a little more about how well Djokovic was playing.

The talkin' heads on Eurosports called it the same way. It was all about Murray and what he was doing wrong or right. Not about how the King out played him for three sets.

Can you blame them? Murray's incessant wincing, screaming and manic eye-blinking made for better TV than the calm, cool, determined Djok on the other side. Djok played outstanding, but Murray's egg laying in Slams was obviously becoming the story throughout the match, because you really expected so much more from his side. Shame that he couldn't have pushed it to at least a fourth set.

Djokovic was not playing really well in that final. He was really controlling the match and did not do anything special unlike his semi against Federer.

The highlight of the match was Murray making himself look like a joke in another GS final.

they were so focused on murray because he was displaying a complete lack of energy or passion out there. you would think a top five player, in a good position to win his first grand slam, the first for his country in over 70 years, would put in a bit more effort. for one of the fastest guys on court, his feet looked like they had lead weights in them. i think they were all just surprised and confused by his demeanor.

Affraid, I was when I saw "Darth" ïn your name, but ruined it the second part has. Enough to compensate your Federer side is not. Much fail in federer I sense.

Maybe the fact that Eurosport is a British channel has something to do with that.

Maybe that fact that he is more photogenic has something to do with that.

The camermen just couldn't resist focusing on Murray's grimacing, snarling face and the tirade of nasty language coming from his mouth. They must have had a fun time with this match.

Just like here, on TT forums ... 90% of discussions is about Murray, not the winner ...

I was quite annoyed about that too. The "expert" commentary was all about what was wrong with Murray. It was quite disgusting.

They used to do that during Federer-Rafa matches too.. This year, I see the tide turning on that count with all the praise for how Refa handled the press conference. To be sure, I like the way Rafa handled himself but it was strange to see the sort of mind control.. teaching all of us sheep about what is the right way to deal with it and what is the right thing to say. These goons appoint themselves to the position of 'opinion makers'.

Eurosport is French but used to be British and is owned by TF1...

And besides, the Australian channel 7 controls what's shown, so you're doubly wrong.
