Hingis/Lisicki won the Women's doubles championship defeating Makarova/Vesnina 4-6, 6-4, 10-5. Congrats to both of them, especially Hingis! I just wish I could've seen the match. :(

Do y'all see a Slam doubles title in store for her?

Very cool, I was also hoping to see this, but alas. For a very lively thread on the match, see here. And here I was thinking that the tennis warehouse forum was active!

Yaaay for Martina. Gotta love a player who wins with finesse and brains, not just clubbing someone to death.

Debatable. I would put Martina and Martina at 1 and 2. Not sure on the order.

How much money do the winners get? I heard masters and premier events pay well.

Winners get $257,860. Same as men's doubles. Not bad.

Good to see Hingis on court again, what a big mistake she didn't play on the tour so long. She is a great tennis player

Here's something you wouldn't expect to hear about Sabine Lisicki:

Anyway, that's Hingis' opinion of her. Interesting, isn't it? The pressure of a singles final at Wimbledon really has no match.

That's a post-championship Wimby doubles pose and Martina won't have to even change her outfit!

Much better now with some proper visuals :)

It is amazing how small Hingis looks next to Lisicki; I always thought Lisicki wasn't that tall.

This is better work from Hingis. By that I mean she should always have been playing main draw doubles instead of those phoney legend invitations for 3 years when she and Davenport never lost a match beating up older women until it became a joke. I was very discouraged with her in those years when she could have should have been in main draw.

99% she will win with Paes too in mixed. She and Paes are a really exciting team to watch.

Actually, the moment she had done her time and served her sentence, regardless of whether justified or not, I was calling for her to immediately come back to singles in 2009. Had she done that, who knows what she might have done in the Woz years with Serena out and Pova injured.

I remember the first time I saw Hingis practice and play matches, before she was a top player. Her deft and soft hands, and her ability to redirect the ball down-the-line amazed me. She really is a great talent, and her mom is a very smart coach.
