    You went thru a really rough patch in your life. Your parents separated, you suffered a bout of tendinitis in the knees, and then you sprained your abdomen so much you said in the interview that only down the middle serves were possible because of the pain. In spite of all this, you said the only reason for the loss to Del was that he played better. We could see that you could hardly hit a forceful shot with the pain. But retirement is not in your vocabulary.

    By reaching the semifinals of a Slam under such conditions, you have shown everyone who the real GOAT is.

    Nice troll.

    I wonder what Nadal called it when he retired against Monaco once.

    (and Nadal did mention his injuries in the post match interview.)

    Wait I don't understand this at all, how does Nadal reaching the semi-finals show everyone that Federer is GOAT?

    Um, but Federer won 3 slams in 2009 and holds 4 since 08 USO, so how is Nadal the real GOAT?:confused:

    Don't count out Del.

    I have come to the conclusion that only 2 handers can beat Nadal.

    Actually suresh has a good point. By Nadal reaching semis of USO and once again (for the 6th time) failing to reach final while Federer did for the 6th time, proves he can't match Federer's consistency at being the best ->22 slam semis
    -> 15 slams
    -> including the French
    -> Nadal doesn't have the USO
    -> Failed to stay No.1 not even for 12 month
    -> making excuses for his loses yet again

    ------> Nadal declares Federer is GOAT.

    What about Fed getting to AO semis with mono? Surely that is proof of GOAT-hood, no?

    That's very true.

    Its an admirable effort to make the Semis despite having an abdominal tear that was killing him. Most other players would not even have showed up.

    Unfortunately Nadal has probably been injured in half of the slams he has participated in during his career, however there is no better player than Nadal when Nadal is in full fitness, and that will continue to be the case unless Rogerio can reverse the 5-2 slam final dominance over him.

    Tommy Haas has also been through alot also... This game begs for injury. And just another miraculous aspect of Federer's career; no "major" injuries ..
