    Hey guys, first post! :D

Basically i'm looking to go the Evert academy, some time in the future for a week or two, only problem is, that at the moment I cannot contact them. I have all the forms but need a bit of help in filling out some of them, and i have tried calling them on numerous occasions (as it says to do on their website) and I have sent them two emails to which I have also had no reply!

I dont know if the problem with calling them is due to it being an international call, i'm not familiar with US dial tones, but it sound to me like i'm getting an engaged tone for both numbers every time I call.

I would really like to go to florida, but it's going to be very hard if i can't communicate with them.

Has anyone had the same problem/experiences, or any suggestions of what I should do?!

I know this is a slightly odd thread, but i'm getting quite frustrated by the situation!

    Thanks,
    Louise

I've heard good things about Evert's, but not been there myself. I'd keep trying to get in touch with them. They may be experiencing "hurricane" problems right now. You might make sure you're calling them at a time when they'd be open. Good luck.

Thanks, I thought that maybe that the hurricane may have caused a few problems, and i'm not really sure how long it takes them to recover from them. Before I go looking elsewhere I think i'll give them a week or so and them i may have a look at some other places in florida.:D

    Everts area hard hit

Hello louise, The area around Everts has been hard hit by the storm. They are in the process of cleaning up and I think they will be open very soon. I live about 2 miles away and if you would like I can go take a look tomorrow for you and let let you know what is going on. Do not listen to the nay sayers, Everts is a good academy, and like any other place of this type you will get out of it what you put in. If you work hard you will do great, if you goof off, they will ignore you and concentrate on the other kids. best of luck .

I have been to evert. I like the academy. I am not a name sayer but I am a person who is intitled to my opinion and my opinion is that Newks is better for me because of my game style. Every teaches, in my opinion, a more baseline game than I am used to. I really do like Evert. Their factilities beat almost everybody with their red clay courts and everything else. I hope you enjoy it. That is a nice favor you are doing and I hope the damage to you and Evert is minimal.

thanks very much, I really appreciate your contribution, it's a bit scary for me going all the way to florida and so it's great to hear that it is a good place. I managed to speak to them yesterday and they seemed very helpful and positive and answered both by questions so it looks like i will be able to send the forms in this week :)

arky: thanks as well, did you stay in their residence when you went, what was in like food wise/accommodation? Anything you would recommend?!

This all sounds familiar. Were you on the boards under another name a while back?

The food was good at Evert. There was a lot of pasta (there was pasta for every meal actualy). Accomodiations were average for a tennis place. My only consern is the price of the camp. I tend to be kind of cheap. Hope this helps,

Louise, Are you going for sure, and how long are you staying? Are you an adult or a junior? Especially if you're an adult, I'd like to hear what you thought of the place (especially the quality of the instruction) when you return. I've considered going there myself, but it seems to be geared much more towards kids than adults (but maybe I'm wrong about that). Thanks.

    why evert's

Why this camp? It will cost you so much money, are you serious about tennis? No direction justing hitting balls.

Give some reasons for training at this camp.

Do you have special knowledge about this academy or why are you saying that it is so bad?

BTW I don't think that you are ever going to get American juniors to go to your academy because:

    1) It is so far away and there are plenty of good academies already here that have produced many pros and college players.

    2) Juniors need to participate in high level tournaments. Traveling back and forth from Paraguay is not practical.

    3) Nobody ever has heard of you and you have no track record.
