Hibiscus painted court
You beat me to the punch:
stefan on the roof ?!
thx for the clip... at least, now i know that the whole court is painted and that they really play on it !
from mauroed79 in another thread, here's another original court :
good to see these good old volleys from stefan !!!
These are my favorite courts. Fenced-in, single court, very well lit..
this was last night at a very exotic private property location -_- it was next to a manmade lake and we could hear ducks/geese in it. There was also this one rodent that was gnawing on something and rustling the grass next to the courts. Couldn't see what it was though...
it was quite surreal playing in thick fog. It was pretty cool as well (pacific north west)
yo granitechief congragulations.
Thanks. But what exactly are the congrags for?
BTW, yesterday, my wife and I played in the quarters of the Cathedral Oaks Mixed Dubs tourney. It too drizzly at the club so we played at one of the members private courts.
Its one of the nicest courts i've ever played on. Unfortunately, i couldn't get a good photo cuz of the weather. It is in hope ranch and its way up high off of sea ranch road. Its up on the hill across Las Positas and has a full view of Eilings Park one way and of the ocean the other way. I'll try to get a shot of it to post here. I'm not sure though if it will top the Kauai courts though, but its in the running.
Got a slow start, but picked up speed and won 7-6,6-1. Playin semis at Cath Oaks tonite.
congratulations on getting married
oh and i know the court your talking about my buddy lives right off las positas so everytime i go to his house i see the court, looks really nice.
have you ever played on those two private courts on 192 passed the tennis club and fire station, i've only once seen someone on them.
who are you playing in the semis, i might know them.
desert tennis court, i'm pretty sure they don't have a waterfountain
Thanks for the congrats, although my marriage was quite a while ago.
I don't think you can see the court i'm talking about from Las Positas. But i know the one you can see and its at that fully palatial mansion on the end of the big bluff. That is probably an amazing court, although succeptible to wind.
I haven't played on the private court off 192.
We played Megan Cottich (she's a science teacher at La Colina) and Brad Blue, who has been around SB forever playin the opens. We won 6-4,6-4 and will play Jordan Doc and her Pop in the finals.
Windscreens might be nice. Interesting court setting, different. Not exactly beautiful in my eyes. But it looks like it would be a long hot walk to another court.
Is that real?
I would figure that court would be covered in sand every minute and nothing in the picture looks real. Like a picture from mar's perhaps. Talk about exotic!
dockendorf hits the ball well, i saw her playing spencer the other day at tcsb. and i didn't go to la colina but my buddy simon said ms cotich was a great teacher and basically everyone in town knows brad.
i wouldn't try lobbing, i'd be more afraid of what i'd run into chasing a lob? helmet tennis anyone?
This is an odd and exotic court
lol, i am sure, i would hate to play tennis on a windy day there, you'd have to wear a dust mask and goggles,
a half hard half clay court grand tournament would be pretty cool, and also granitechief tell me how you did.
We haven't played em yet. We still have to schedule a time. Usually these Cath Oaks tourneys have the finals on Friday eve, during happy hour. However, Jordans dad is refusing to play at that time cuz he doesn't like playing in the dark with lights. So we'll try to play this weekend, however, Jord has CIF stuff, and my little player is playing the tourney in 1000 oaks. Hopefully we'll find a time slot this weekend.
Its an Open so he's giving the 14's a shot. Its funny too, cuz the #1 seed is a kid that is very very small and C plays him all the time at Weil and beats him 8/10 times. He would play him on Sun in the 2nd round, the question is whether he can keep his cool facing the antics/gamesmanship. If so it should be 6-2,6-2. If not, who the heck knows.
I thought you were going to send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. C needs to play a practice match today, are you game?
hey sorry i didn't get to your message sooner i was at school and stuff till around 6:30 and i've got a tonna homework, i can't play tommorrow cause my mom scheduled me a god damn hepatitis shot appointment. however monday at tcsb could work? i'll write you an email.
also i noticed c is playing fabian schafer, that kid is pretty funny, kind of cocky though, im pretty sure c can take him, a kid named michael lowe in the draw is pretty good, if c can beat the 1 seed in the 2nd round he will play miles seeman who is the definition of a pusher, could drive collin crazy, of course michael starnes, one of my frequent hitting partners could beat miles if he is on his game, unfortunately michael doesn't practice very hard and gets into fights with his dad 24/7. michael has a huge serve up the middle and outwide and a big forehand, a kid named adam schwartz is in the draw he's a pretty solid 8th grader at hw in north hollywood and he went to my elementary school when i lived in la. another guy named spencer suk also went there he is seeded in the 16s. anyway tell collin good luck from me. if you ask michael or fabian if they know a funny red headed kid they will know who i am.
there is always the possibility that i could play after my hepatitis shot, but i'll probably be pretty tired and stuff. i was gonna play this tourney but i have to take the frickin' gate test at 9 in the morning.
best thread in the history of the internet!!!! my contribution...
my home-made grass court in scotland and the best ball boy money can buy.
beachview, sanibel, florida.
court in need of some tlc- pepete, moorea, french polynesia.
those are pretty cool
me too waht is that in the background....................sand? water that is really grey?
it's a beach and a river, the atlantic is off to the right and the tide comes in and covers the whole bay twice a day. yea...you've got to pick which balls out wide to go for otherwis eyou can end up the other side of the "fence" (it's a stone wall)!
an oil-fountain, maybe ?!
is it in algeria, as suggested by the name of the picture ?...
nice contribution... what an amazing home-made court !!!
a new one in doha...
i hate to tell you this but that's photo shopped i saw that tournament on tv and it was all clay, no grass any where. It's also a cycling track.
Hate to tell you this, but you're wrong...
Please refer to the following link: http://www.thebattleofsurfaces.com/
I don't remember the ad, but that does look like Johnny Mac serving.
at last (!) an answer... and a right one !!!
you won a bottle...
in fact it's a perrier commercial... made by ridley scott !
Many of the pics from this thread are gone, so I'm not sure if this has been posted yet. Sony Ericsson Open.
(Notice how close Nadal is to the net. Volley return?)
where is that
Cape Bretagne...or near it ... NW coast of France. Oui? C'est ca?
Merci bien for the bottle of Perrier, BTW. Goes well avec the post-tennis, soreness with a little aloe juice and the wifely massage I'm about to settle into....je pense.
Dear God that home grass court is glorious...
Nice. Looks pretty small. I'd play on it, though.
it's indeed in bretagne (brittany), more precisely in perros-guirec, on what is called the pink granite coast (a tiny part of bretagne's north coastline).
Nb: bretagne is like the (west) nose of the france map.
PS: you're welcome for the perrier... did you win ?... and more importantly, how was the massage ?
Your home court? Amazing! You're so lucky! If it was mine I'll just kiss the court everyday & sleep on it at night too! & nice ball boy
Imagine playing here on a warm, sunny, summer afternoon...
It's a 10 minute boat ride from my house, which is a bit of a pain... It can get a little windy sometimes as well, but it's usually ok if I play early in the morning.
No freaking way. That looks a bit photoshopped though. If you could provide pictures on-court, that would be sweet.
How could we forget the tennis court where the French Revolution all began?
Are you serious? look at his location. I dont think you'll find this 10 mins off the coast of England
Good luck trying to get pics like these 10 min away from London!
