do any players still use it?
lol... probably true. Just hits the ball with the other side.
Gasquet if I remember correctly
Doesn't Stepanek also use a continental grip for the forehand?
Absolutely no one. Stepanek, Blake and one or two others use Eastern but that's it.
Gasquet definitely uses a mild semi western. Hitting late does not necessarily = continental grip.
I heard announcers alluding to that, but I don't think so.
Perhaps there may be a doubles specialist out there using a conti.
nobody uses conti fh these days. u cant hit a proper modern fh with it
Gasquet has probably the prettiest backhand on tour. But definitely the ugliest forehand. Especially live. It just looks all kinds of wrong. How he hits a modern swing with a conti grip is beyond me.
it aint a conti grip, thats why its beyond u
When the Wimbledon broadcaster said that it didn't seem right, so I did some freeze frames on my DVD. He does not use a Continental. Looks like strong Eastern, weak Semi-Western to me.
I, however, am a proud user of the Continetal grip.
I disagree. Look at the fyb video. It's def conti to start with at least. Maybe it edges towards eastern during the swing. And Teflon... Incorrect use of words by me. NOTHING is beyond me. (ain't u ain't u u u ain't u)
