WTF were they thinking??? I like the design of Serena's dress, but it doesn't work with that giant backside of hers. Maria apparently just put on her nightgown.

fine. but the image itself is not cool if you don't know the backstory. just two guys standing still, grinning at the camera. the one on the left has a w.c. fields potato nose, and the other's got a sunburned beak.

otoh, these two photographs are cool, the first one for perspective and clarity of the stop-action, the second one for the beauty of the body and the creative use of setting and wide-angle lens ... JMO ...

But I was under the impression that this thread was supposed to be for "cool pictures" in the photographic sense (as in the art of photography), not just for product placement-type images.

    not true? :?:

^^Totally agree LoveGame, I mean who wants to see pics of two guys shaking hands after just meeting each other, even if one of them is RF? That sort of thing belongs in the "RF News" thread or something IMO...

Of course not, just post pics you find cool! I don't find the pic of Noel from the "facegoo" app with the distorted body very interesting or arty, but who cares?

People post everything in here.... technically brill photos, pictures that capture personalities or stories, cool little moments in sport, pictures that depict history in the making etc. i.e. picture posting, not moaning ;)

And that's exactly it isn't it? The word "cool" is by its very nature a subjective word. Like niff, I don't find that second photo cool at all. It's just a weirdly distorted photo of a guy with an awkward grin....

So you post what you think is cool as long as it relates to pro tennis players, simple as that really.

exactly. two people standing side by side or shaking hands in a staged pose for the purpose of advertising. I dont get it. how does that qualify as "cool"?

i understand different people having different opinions of "cool." so would you please enlighten me how the picture you posted of those two guys shaking hands (and the one you responded to me about the two guys standing side by side "you can always ask" (both of which are stock promotionals) what it is that YOU find cool about them? maybe I can understand it if you explain how it is that they strike you as cool?

    thx :)

Because they're two sporting bosses and for me as a skiing, tennis and sports fan it's just mindblowing amounts of awesome talent in one photo, especially such a normal one. It's not a difficult concept LG :p Legend meets Legend, as xanctus already explained.

your point is well taken that we should just post those picture that we, personally, think are cool or coolest.

The pic over proves it. Actually my live impression from the *****'s body which he likes to display is undernourished, misproportioned grass-hopper with an egg-shaped head.

the first pic is the very definition of getting the racquet back early and hitting the ball out in front.

just....perfection. balance, footwork, eye on the ball,...sublime.

The top one reminds me a bit of Daniel Craig walking out of the sea in Casino Royale.

Oh, I never knew you were of the female kind! I'm not really sure I mean posh, but I get the feeling that he could probably dress up overly flamboyant for the occasion, think the host of Iron Chef Japan and you'll know what I mean. Or think Fed@Wimby...

Actually I'm not the guy to comment on overly flamboyant clothing as I'm in serious consideration of having a purple suit made to order...

Phat Dave is more like it, ammi rite? ;) But no, this picture is good, very good.....very good.

Also, that WTF picture is just, I mean, I don't feel really comfortable looking at it. Although Jo looking over Ferrer's shoulders is kind of amusing...who is the guy on the far left?
