Has to be Dolgopolov for me, if he plays well he is in a completely different league to Almagro.

I've said this before, Dolgo will make some major damage on dirt this year. I was so impressed with how he played against Nadal last year. No top player including Nadal would want to see this guy in their half of the draw at the FO.

How is it possible for Almagro to play himself? In that case he is the clear winner though this is a good preview of the Roland Garros final this year.

 The Dog? I was wondering where the atp had come up with that in their headlines.

    Awesome.

Been watching a few matches from Brazil this week, I'm saying Dolgo in 2 close ones. Allez...

that ranking may turn out to be correct ...

... but there's a question about the number of points Dog will have if he wins Brasil Open, which awards 250 points to the champion

that site says his max w/b 1478

but ... current point value is 1273
add 250 to that and you get 1523 ... no?

I took the "current point value" from the ATP website @ http://www.atpworldtour.com/Rankings/Singles.aspx ... as of Monday, Feb. 7.

so how could the "current point value is 1273" include a QF that hadnt even been played yet?

Only 18 tournaments can count towards your rankings, so if he wins here, he'll drop a tournament from the "best of other tournaments" category to make room for his Brazil results...

    That's the 45 point difference b/w 1523 and 1478.

    Guys! Rankings 101!

He's played loads of small tournaments last year, so he'd be dropping 45-points from his "Best of other countable tournaments" to make place for this result.

Is the umpire glued to the chair? If there's a late call and the players are looking at the mark and wondering, get the f-ck out of the chair and check the mark, especially at 0-15...

I'm very confused about Dolgo, playing lights out one second and then sticking to stupid dropshots, when they haven't worked a single time...

Needs to fine-tune his game and he'll do a hell of a lot better in these kind of matches.

dolgo did use the dropper to excellent effect earlier in the week ... nico just another class of player, not having any probelm with it so far

theyre both really slammin it, but most long rallies have been won by nico

youre right he needs to go to plan B

Yeah, he still has a lot to learn about shot selection and when to hit the correct shot.

He's definitely improved since more or less breaking onto the scene last year. His serve has also gotten better and more consistent.

Yes, I saw some of his other matches, but as you said, different players different tactics. After he unsuccesfully tried it 3 times I wouldn't do it a fourth on set point Maggy...

Almagro might be the most dishonest player on tour. I wouldn't trust him for a second. I don't dislike him, I just don't think he's the right man to judge a ballmark.

I question why the umpire wouldnt get down off his throne to check that one?

dolgo getting some points off the dropper now :)

alex holds 3-2 ... it's starting to sound as if dolgo might be more of the crowd favorite ... i think most of them dislike nico too! :p

i cant see one thing that almagro does better than dolgo yet somehow dolgo is finding a way to lose.

he hasn't been aggressive enough with return of serve or his play in general

Dolgo's dropshots are world class, however. He makes more than he misses.

Nice hold after being down 15-40

    4-3 Dolgo

    - -

Commendable performance against Almagro, who is a decent clay court player. However, I don't see Dolgo as any type of threat to Nadal.

If he makes it to 6-5 he needs to go nuts and try to break Almagro rather than risk a TB.

When Dolgo plays a mixed blend of defense and offense he's much more successful. It seems he just goes for too much (too often) on shots that just aren't there.

    5-5 Dolgo serving

    6-5 Dolgo

He needs to go apesheet now on Almugro's serve and take some chances.

Almagro might take the TB I think.
Why is one of his sleeves different from the other, or am I just seeing things?
