It all depends on the alcohol percentages involved. I could tell you that gin hits me like a hammer and I drink vodka like its water but that isn't much of a help.

Past everclear you get into ethyl alcohol, which will destroy tissue on contact. Everclear is far enough and can kill you, or at least make you go blind like Bushwick.

In alcohol content, a 12 ounce can of beer is approximately equal to a 5 ounce glass of wine or 1 and 1/2 ounces (a "jigger") of vodka or gin.

interesting fact:

the alcohol in alcoholic beverages is exactly the same. what alters our experience with different drinks are the other components in the drink.

alcohol is an irritant, so regardless of what you drink, its going to irritate your GI tract, including stomach. That lets the other ingredients mess with your stomach more than they normally would, and you feel worse.

in your case, the rest of the stuff in gin makes you feel bad, but in vodka, not.

your blood alcohol level and the effects of the alcohol itslef in your brain will be the same, given you drank same amount of alcohol depending on the drink.

These are just the ones that I'm curious about.

Beer.
Wine.
Vodka.
Gin.

To say you drank the same amount. Lets just say 2 pints or 32 Oz in an hour.

32oz of beer, you may be staggering a little but should be fine.

32oz of wine, my have trouble standing up.

32oz of gin or vodka. Probably getting your stomach pumped or dead from alchohol poisining.

most store bought beer will have between 4-7% ALC by volume, wherer wine will be between 15-20%, and most liquors are between 30-50% (60-100 proof)

2nd Serve, Try out these outstanding, time-honored VARIETALS:

1. Cisco ("Liquid Crack" = up to 19.5 percent). A wine from the Highland Park Vineyard Regions of Detroit, Michigan; floral hints of hemlock; robust, sugary finish.

5. MD 20/20 ("Red Vine" variety = up to 18 percent). A wine of crisp structure with a fragrant bouquet of isopropyl acetate; pleasing, sugary finish.

d. Night Train (17.5 percent). A smooth Breakfast wine balancing weed killer and herbicidal notes with good acidity; full, sugary finish.

12. Thunderbird (between 13 and 18 percent); An all-purpose wine whose "nose" evokes aromatic threads of gasoline with traces of iodine; long, sugary finish.

6. Hombre (16 percent); Refreshing wine with a biting pallet of gun metal and crushed aspirin; hearty, sugary finish.

Absinthe is pretty strong
Light beer is pretty weak

Typically Absynthe runs 75%-85%.
I had 13 shots of 85% a couple of weeks ago + some other shots...I woke up not remembering about 6hours of the night, with 1/2 an eyebrow and my hair cut :-|

All you need to do is read the label, as most jurisdictions require retailers to have alcohol content listed. Generally speaking, beer is the weakest, whereas ethanol in pure form is strongest. The stable pure form of ethanol is actually about 96.5% alcohol and 3.5% water. My friend and I tried ethanol for fun when we were little. Contrary to some misinformation in this thread, there is no tissue destroyed, but there is unpleasant burning sensation and lack of social enjoyment, based on that experience.
