Guessing Chela will drop off after RG...Defending a QF while Nalbandian missed it last year.
Harrison could bounce Young out...Gasquet in...Verdasco/Lopez quite close, Lopez might have the edge on grass.

This reminds me, how come Benneteau is already playing RG? I thought the MC injury was more serious than that.

They do use the rankings right after RG (Monday Jun 11th)

I'm pretty pumped up about this event, it's the closest thing to a grass court season we'll have in decades. Also, I want to see the top players wearing the colorful national colors in Wimbledon's Centre Court.

How the hell is Young ranked higher than Harrison??? He's only been playing 250 events and challengers right?

USO 4R, Washington (500) SF, Bangkok (250) final last year that still haven't come off.

Harrison's best results are 250 semis and Rof16 at IW.

Doesn't the rule say you just have to make yourself available to play? Also, he was a practice partner for at least one DC tie, but that was when he was pretty fresh to the tour.

That's a great way of looking at it. It's going to be an exciting quasi-season on London greensward!

A year ago I might have suggested Almagro have the grace to cede his spot to a more capable grasscourt player(in this case, Lopez), but after he beat Isner at SW19 in 2011 he's not such a fish out of water these days.

I think Fish is playing at Washington this year instead of Olympics.

I'm not sure. I think the player has to "make himself available" for DC, not actually play, but I could be wrong. And, DY has been at a couple of ties, even if he hasn't played.

Yeah, it does seem weird that DY is ranked higher than Harrison, given his non-existent year, and the fact we've seen Harrison a lot more because he's been losing to high-ranked players.

But, DY put a string of results together last summer and fall that surpasses what Harrison as put together. Those points are still on the computer (as someone else noted). DY can't drop much at all in the rankings until this summer. And based on his current form, he's going to drop considerably, because if he stays playing like he is, he'll never defend enough of those points to avoid a big drop.

So, basically, DY and Harrison have the next few weeks to settle it.

Hope DY enter. Make some profits with his obvious loss.

My math may be off, but Benneteau would have to make the finals to even have a chance of catching Monfils.

    Monf 2165 QF (-360) = 1805

Benneteau has 1190 and is defending 2r points, so if he loses his next match he loses nothing, but gains only 45 points if he wins and would still have quite a ways to go of course.

As has been noted, Fish isn't playing so Harrison and Young are both in w/ Isner and ARod. Benneteau is out for France. Chela's ranking cratered once his RG points fell off, so his Olympic hopes seem to be done and Nalbandian is safely in. I may be wrong, but Lopez can only overtake Verdasco if he reaches Queens final. David Goffin could still get a spot for Belgium if he's top 56 next week; he's 63 right now, and I don't see him entered in any events. So he has to hope the guys in front of him fall back a bit, it seems.

Here's the live rankings. The top 56 are guaranteed a spot, with the limit of 4 from each country. Also Kevin Anderson isn't going to play either.

Wikipedia also makes it a bit more clear where everyone stands.

Looks like Nadal will play doubles with Granollers.

Are the defending champions (Federer/Wawrinka) playing doubles?? I don't see them in the list.

Its too late for Lopez to overtake Verdasco because today is the entry deadline. The pts for Queens wont be added till next wk.

I think the spanish federation could choose not to favor Lopez over Verdasco no? He has a better resume on grass.

Too bad Sam Q hasn't had quite enough time to get his ranking back up to where it should be.

He would definitely whoop on DY and RH, esp on grass.
