Its been a couple of years since I got a really good HDTV, in 2010 I bought Samsung best plasma a 58 C8000. I still have it the picture is so rich. Just dim compared to the LEDs out there. I have to crank up the cell light to max level.

I aslo had a top 2010 Led the Samsung C8000 but sold it, it was very bright and colors pop but I didnt like how you have to sit right in front of it to get the best picture and uniformity in the colors. Wasn't rich enough with contrast and black levels.

Here is a pic. I just sold it last week.

I can say I will never buy LED again as long as Plasma is still made. I do think Plasma has maybe 3-4 years left on the market as 8 out of 10 people will buy the LED for its more vivid picture.

    Currently I want a Panasonic VT50. :)

So whats for you Led or Plasma?

Plasma is still the best in HDTV! Samsung used to be the best but now I think Panasonic is better.

I can't get past LED's documentary like picture.

I have a few Panasonics at home, everything I've read on the subject recommends Panasonic or Samsung.

I have always liked Sharp sets but just bought a new Sony 60" led set last Saturday as the price was too good to pass up. I have been shopping for a new set anyhow and the Sony store had a great deal with free blu-ray player and free 5yr warranty.

Pioneer Plasma. Too bad they don't make them anymore.

Yes the Kuro Elite is still considered to be the best TV made. The Elite LCD from Sharp is supposed to be really really good, probably the best LCD/LED TV ever made, however it costs upwards of 6000$, so it's far from worth it IMO.

I have the VT30 which was, and still is incredible, however I have not read up a lot on the VT50 which is the next generation. I do know that they added built in WiFi as opposed to using an external adapter on the VT30. The black levels are also supposed to be improved. However, I believe most people would tell you to go with the ST50, as it's price:picture quality ratio is probably the best out there, and it is not far from the VT series, however the VT line has a significantly better design aesthetic, with the one sheet of glass that looks stunning in person. CNET rated ST50 the best TV of 2012. The VT30 was commonly seen as the best TV of 2011.

But no matter who you buy your TV from, plasma always has been, and still is the way to go.

Its always nice to come home to the best, most of us cant afford the nicest car in the showroom but the nicest TV in the world is within reason. The VT50 in 65 sounds like a good investment seeing its used everyday.
I have a 65inch middle of the road Panasonic S2, its nice but shows in weakness in HD movies that demand deep blacks. Its just not up to par.
I have always like how LG Plasmas look but reviews really all say the same, their black levels are not good.

Love the pioneer kuro and how sad they discontinue. The second best flat screen is the Panasonic VT50.

The problem is that if you want TV's at a decent price point, you are going to have to sacrifice something somewhere. The Kuro died out because it was 6,000 a set, which is clearly too much for most people no matter how good the picture may be.
