Hey, am looking for a new durable tennis shoe. thought that the idea of customising with mi barricade or nikeid was cool.
If anyone has done this in the past, is the resulting shoe worth the large price tag, or am I better off going with a catalogue model?
Secondly, and less important, I live in Australia. Can I use the US store for either brand to construct a shoe and then have it shipped here?
Any replies would be appreciated and I'm sorry if this topic has been covered before.

For me, there is only one reason to customize a pair of tennis shoes, and that's if I want to buy grass or clay specific shoes.

$40-$60 to get MY colors to "express myself" is not worth it.

$40-$60 so I'm not skating on a different surface is worth it.

nope, not to me. I've ID alot, i mean alot of Nike shoes. At first, I'm thinking I'll get something personalized but in the end, I say to myself, what the hell was I thinking?!

My thought process exactly T21D. But yeah i do tend to skate a bit on astro turf and clay. So that different sole on the grass shoe, with the 'dots' (yeah i know i sound stupid) is effective for traction? And none of the stock shoes can get me that?

I customized a pair of Adidas Barricade V for my birthday. It cost $154 when the going price was $110. Now they go for a little more, but Barricade VII that I customized last year were $196ish. I can understand paying slightly more for custom colors, cushioning, (for me my actual size which they normally don't make) and the right tread. To pay $80 now for customizing is ridiculous. Its practically buy 1 pair and get a Barricade 2 for free. I couldn't justify it. Luckily, it was a birthday present.
