Ok watching the recent Davydenko vs. Djokovic match in Shanghai I saw something that I've never noticed before. During several changeovers, both players were rubbing something from a tube on their hands. What the heck is that stuff? I can't imagine it's greasy hand lotion - so what ... pine tar in a tube to keep a good grip on their sticks? I've never seen this before...

I know guys that sweat a lot do some funny things. For example I know that Lendl used to keep some kind of sawdust in his pockets to dry off his hands whenever he wanted. But what are these guys using from a tube??

I believe it's for grip. I've seen some other players do it, especially ones that seem to sweat a lot, but not all do.

That's what I figure. I sweat a lot, so I'd be curious what the stuff is. Anyone know?
