Hi, I'm watching French open match of Nadal & Del Potro, not sure who is Potro, but he is using K90 racquet as well.
So Fed is not the only one using K90 (or at least PJ of K90)

I thought he was playing with the K95, but I am looking at the match myself and it looks pretty close to the k90

I saw him playing Youzhny at the Ericsson this year. I was very close to the first row. He was using what looked to be the 95.

I thought the same thing, but at a certain moment, there was a close-up of his racket. The beam was way too thick for the racket to be a k90, so my guess would be that the racket seems so small because Del Potro is so big/tall. It's the same thing with Max Mirnyi I think, his racket also looks smaller.

It's the new graphics on the K model racquets which makes them look smaller.

I froze him on my tivo just now, the racket's finish is not shiny like the k95 though ... looks like a k90 to me :) Who knows, perhaps another paintjob.

There are a few players that play with the 95" flat beam, or 6.0 95

    No, he's not.

I've done the desperate thing and counted his mains and crosses..

So you can rule out the k factor 6.1 90.

    Has 18x20 so yeah. Prob the 6.1 95 18.x20

It's not the graphics of the k95 that makes it looks smaller, it's the fact that Del Potro's 6' 6"......

If you were 9' tall like JMDP a 95 square inch racquet would look small in your hands.

I also thought he was using the K90...but looked at pics and paused a TiVo'd match and its NOT a K90. The racquet was just a little too rounded. Could it be something besdies the actual K95...maybe.

I don't care if he's as tall as Ivo, that is not a K95, it sure looks like a K90, anyone got any old pics of him, paintjobs are so good it could be anything underneath

you must have missed the 18/20 string pattern. Getty images has some good pics. its not the 90. it may not be the K95..but its definetly not the K90.

Why doesn't someone just post a picture of Del Potro with his racquet so that we can be the judge.

Must say I never understood why Federer didn't stay with the Ncode 90 paintjob. I personally like the paintjob on those rackets very much, more so than the Orignial or the K90. The Pro Staff Tour 90 was pretty sweet though.

Because he has a contract and Wilson need him to promote the "latest and greatest" product paint regardless of what's underneath. Is it really that difficult to understand ??

Federer "designed" the new K90 PJ. I don't like it much either. I like the look of all one color..the Prestige Classic, PS 85, Max 200g and so on.

Roger could've had input into the paint job. Clearly they were very off base with the PJ.

I also don't like the tone of your response, so next time, please STFU. ;)

see my post above. They brought a bunch of PJ'd K90's to him during Wimbledon of 2006. He chose that PJ..according to Federer himself.

Is it really easy for you to detect the "tone" in anybody's posts ?? You must be a very evolved person. SO...you don't like the tone in "my voice" (which you've probably dreamed about) and you proceed to use foul language in order to counterattack ... right ?

That's cause Sampras had more refined tastes than Federer. :)

Has anyone heard of Google, or the search function. I have to assume the genius of this thread is new to the internet. Do yourself a favor and set your homepage as google.

Doing 3000 word assignments and posting on tt warehouse do not mix. Where's the paper bag? There should be a "****** of the day thread" No guesses who I'd nominate.

ahh. midterm week. it takes a toll on everyone. i dont quite understand the meaning behind your last sentiment - whether it be sarcasm or actuality.
if you're suggesting that i'm the topic of your so-called "****** of the day thread" then you, good sir, have got another thing coming.

No worries. I like your sig. Granted that my KPS 88 isnt damaged in the post AND, it actually arrives in the next 50-60 years I also want to destroy people with a '88sq inch beater'. :) How's your backhand flick with it, it took a while for me to develop it with the K90 since I used to play with a N95, I dont think the transition will take that long.

more stable. by flick do you mean when someone hit's deep to your backhand and all you can do is sort of flick at it? if so, i would say it's nice with the 88. almost the same as the k90, but with more heft to move around.

the backhand lunging/ stab/slice is where the heft pays off while on defense. oh, and by no means do i actually destroy people per se, it's more along the lines of lulling them to sleep. haha. but seriously, one can really hit monstrous strokes with this stick.

That's what I suspected after looking at the picture. Haha. The matte paintjob is much nicer than the glossy one that is sold to the public. :(

Or maybe it's just another paint job considering that the pallet is different. His is much shorter and the one sold on TW is much longer.

    http://m.usopen.org/images/pics/large/b_0914_DelPotro05.jpg

    http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/Wilson_K_Factor_KSix-One_95_18x20/descpageRCWILSON-K6118.html

To me it's so surprising that there's still people who think that what they buy from a pro shop is what the pros are using and still make comments like, "well, i thought (players name) was using the (big sponsored racquet)." When they should just say I thought Del Potro was sponsored to use the K95 because he's not using it, it's not even customized. It's a completely different racquet all together. The racquet he's using is probably more closely similar to what Tsonga's using which was a Hammer series racquet.

And how is it then that Djokovic's racquet was marketed as 16x19 when people can count 18x20 on his actual racquet? I guess that's customized but the same mold too? No, it's not customized, it's just a different racquet that didn't come from the brand that they are sponsoring because the one they are sponsored to play with came out later than the one they've been using, so how can that be the racquet's true origin with slight customizable differences when they've been using an older version the entire time?

Anyways, buy it if it works for you, don't buy it if someone who you like plays with it or is sponsored to wear its colors.

    +1 to that ^^^

Every picture I see of him his racquet does not look shiny like the k95.
