Match is scheduled for 5:05 p.m. PST. Delpo is the oddsmakers favorite and won their last meeting in D.C. in 2009.

mmm, I see Hewitt winning in straights. I hope I'm wrong, though.

Ugh, tough match up for Delpo, even during his top form he had problems with Hewitt.

straight sets easy. Delpo is playing well and Hewitt is playing like crap. If anyone actually watched the last 2 matches you'd see that. It's going to be a blow out

Perfect occasion for Hewitt to spring an upset with Del Portro being the favourite.

I just hope they have some cameras on court for this one ... so far this week, they've only had cameras on court for the matches 7 PM and later .... it's just not the same not being able to see the players' faces ... better than nothing, of course, but hewitt/del potro is surely important enough a match for a little on-court camera work!!!

I'm voting for what I hope to see. Polito is closing out his first sets brilliantly, but he's struggling later, I suspect b/c he's still in some pain. And Lleyton has built his rep on being a fighter, and I suspect he really wants this after the AO.

As Rafa says, "We will see what will happen." :)

Deloptro also looking good, he looks like a top 400 or even top 300 player in this first game. Still, Hewitt in straight sets is what I am thinking. Hopefully they won't go past 1900 PST, I want to see Istomin play and I don't have all night.

What is Hewitt wearing on his head? Has he converted to some exotic religion or getting separated from his wife?

Not sure how this one will pan out, but its clear to see Hewitt is alot more comfortable playing someone who hits flat and hard allowing him to redirect the pace. Hewitt generally has alot more trouble against guys who hit with more spin like Nadal, Federer and Djokovic.

C'mon Lleyton, put up a fight!

We need a Memphis thread! The draw looks good for some good first round matches.. if the talking heads are right. Wow, they're a bunch of gossips.

    Excellent set from Potro.

Hopefully he'll keep the standard up and finish off Hewitt quickly.

Hewitt can still get back into this match. He just needs to be more consistent off the ground.

Just finsished watching. Hewitt did not play well, but good victory on JMDP's comeback. His serve is gradually improving. Still has room to improve his movement, but slowly but surely.

Del Potro could very well win his second USO this year. Once he gets his powerful game back to 2009 levels he is great on the HC.
