If I were to compare him to an animal, I would choose the moose. The moose is a nice animal. And very Del Potro looking.

This is the guy I was hoping would break through and stop some of the top guys from winning all the Slams. Since 2009 I've been disappointed...

I also want him to start piling up some better results so we can finally see a non-Euro winning titles. Nothing against Euros at all, it's just nice to see products of other continents in the world.

it's been a while since you posted that, but this may be the week for delpo to top another tourney ... tho i have mixed emotions about it since it's always so frikken hot there, not juan's favorite condition hot and muggy! I'd almost prefer he save his best for the 1000 in canada ...

"... Juan Martin del Potro returns to ATP World Tour action this week at the Citi Open. The 24-year-old Argentinian is competing in his first ATP World Tour tournament since reaching the Wimbledon semi-finals (l. to Djokovic). Del Potro is making his return on a happy hunting ground, having lifted the Washington trophy in 2008 (d. Troicki) and 2009 (d. Roddick). He has a 9-1 event record and is the top seed. ..."

It's time for him to make another push- enough fluctuating around 6-8. Top 5 here we come.

    Not Before 9:15 PM
[1] [WC] J Del Potro (ARG) vs [7] K Anderson (RSA) - ATP

k so .... it's 8:00 p.m. in washington ... juan martin owns their H2H 4-0 ... yes, kevin is better now than he was then .... but so is delpo .....

true, kevin has played two hard court tournaments before washington and after wimbledon, while delpo hasnt played anything in between ... still, IMO delpo has played himself into enough form this week to be able to best the south african tonight! :D

I haz an anxious! DelPo hasn't had to face anybody that tall, LOL.

Also -- I know they're not supposed to get on the court till 9:15, but the way Tommy and baby D are slugging it out, who knows if it's going to start on time. It's a crazy tight match - real slugfest.

    Saturday Semifinal:
    [1] [WC] J Del Potro d [3] T Haas (GER) 76(4) 63

every time I tried to catch up with this match yesterday ... they were in rain delay ... so all I caught were the match highlights early this morning. Delpo sounds as if he still has a lot of gas in the tank, so should be well prepared to take on John Isner (one of the few guys delpo has to look up to) in the final later today ....

3:00 PM Eastern Time/12:00 PM Pacific Time
[1] [WC] J Del Potro (ARG) vs [8] J Isner (USA)

    vamos juan martin! [IMG]
