How much do you think Delpo can change in this year's US Open series? I personally think if he is healthy, he can do a lot of damage.

I hope he gets to the USO without injuries so that he can cause some damage there. If he's healty, beware top 4.

Huge impact? Like taking out a top 3 player? He could.. He always plays them kinda tough but in the end loses in 4 or 5 sets. Maybe this time it will be different. If he plays them enough times he should break through them once, so he should just make sure not to lose to someone like Chardy again.

I think the furthest he will go will be the QF or maybe the SF depending on his draw.

I agree about his draw, but his forehand and serve can get him far, far enough to possibly win.

He has broken through before, when he won in 2009.

But how far did he make it in every other year besides 2009?

His serve is not that great especially for a guy his size.

Yeah indeed. Just because he played well that one Grand slam out of all the Grand Slams he has played doesn't mean we can expect him to do it again at this US Open. Besides, 2009 Delpo isn't exactly the same as 2013 Delpo. Slightly different playing style (at least it feels like that to me) and different competition.

He still hasn't beaten a 'big four' player in any slam besides the USO 09 when he won the title.
Could say he is getting closer at least.

Let me remind you guys that back in 2008 delpo went on a nice run during the summer swing and won a handful of titles and went deep at the us open to see him reach a career high, then claiming the us open title in 2009. I believe that his best performance is usually on the summer hard court swing. would like to see him beat murray at the us open final would be a clash.

    Indeed.

In 2009 he also reached the SF at RG and lost a close match in 5. This year's Wimbledon SF reminded me of that match. Could it be a sign of things to come?

del potro can win some trophys..oh yes :)

some of his forehands and in/out forehands at Wimbledon were awesome, his serve is looking better, as his his slice on backhand side, (not so much 2 hand backhand),

he is mentally strong, unlike ferrer, Tsonga, burdych..so the 'tower of tandil' can lay waste to the tennis landscape these coming weeks. :)
