tennis player if you were on the tour. Who most embodies your characteristics?

    Be honest...

    Ex:

    Physically:

I would be like Justine Henin...slight in stature, but with a champion's heart (sometimes).

    Mentally:

I would probably be more like Davenport...easily discouraged and half the time couldn't wait to get off the court if I was losing.

    Emotionally:

I would be like Sampras...never let 'em see you sweat, (it's only a game).

    Humor:

Would probably be like Andy Roddick. I love one-liners

    I would be like

I'm probably like Roddick in all categories except I don't look like him. I probably have a little Safin emotionally, but work hard to suppress it.

    Looks: Safin (Haha I wish)
    Physically: Murray (Tall and Skinny)
Mentally: Davydenko (I often just go for broke when I am close to losing to get off the court quicker or to come back)
Emotionally: Federer (I don't show much emotion on the court outside of a small fist pump or come on)
Sportsmanship: Nadal (I give credit to my opponents when I lose and don't make excuses.)
Grunt: Federer (Basicaly I don't grunt except a non obnoxious one when I go for a big shot sometimes)
Humor: Federer (I have no humor on the court except to lessen some tension on occasion. I just let my racket do the talking)

I don't resemble any pros past or present physically.

I asked a few tennis partners which pros my game most resemble and I got:

Lendl, Muster, Stich, Edberg, Rafter. So, there is no pattern there either.

Physically/Mentally - These two are linked, I think. I play like a French guy, beautiful strokes, ability to make up shots as I go along. If I'm up 40-love, I'll usually try to hit a serve in a way I've never attempted before. Probably have come back from love-40 more than anyone in history, because usually, I have no business being down love-40 to much weaker players. If I get bored in a match, I'll try to invent new shots. Even as old as I am now, I still make up new stuff - I decided to hit a volley in my last match as a waist-high swinging underhand, inside-out sidespin for a short angle winner in my last match. Successful on the shot, Lost the match.
Probably would say most like Leconte or Piloline.

Emotionally, I'm a lot like Andy Murray. Used to be like Ivanisovic or Safin, but I don't melt down completely anymore.

I can coach anyone's strokes (up to a very high level), but I never attempt to help anyone with their mental game.

Pretty much Marat Safin, but about a half foot shorter. I can put together beautiful points or totally psych myself out and lose it on the court.

8 out of the above 16 responses have Safin mentioned. As if we need anymore proof this forum is a great big circle jerk of Safin worship.

6 of those are comparing themselves mentally/emotionally to Safin, which isnt a compliment. Not too bright are you?

I had Safin in mine but its for a negative trait of him. I couldn't care less about the guy.
