I wanted it to be this, because I wanted to a 5-set tiebreaker with Federer winning it against Nadal to win his 15th Grand Slam Title. I think it would be a good way to win his 15th; a hard match against his greatest rival.

I feel him beating Murray, a Brit, with the atmosphere it would bring.. would be more special.

I did hope for a Fed vs Nadal final but with Fed winning this time.Their rivalry is at their best in Wimbledon by far.

I think Roger will have his hands full with or without Rafa. I'm not sure Andy Murray is ready to beat Fed in 5 sets, or if Murray will even make it to the final. Roger is still vulnerable so maybe he'll get knocked out, who knows?

I think it's very sad that Rafa had to withdraw. Unfortunately, the Cahill's, Gilbert's, McEnroe's et al. have been predicting Rafa's physical breakdown for 2-3 years now, seeing how hard he works for every point. I hope Rafa gets much better and comes back in full form for the US Open or maybe even the Australian.

  8. If you quote him, you'll see that there are a lot of spaces between the "No" and the "."

    I did, because:

    1. It'd be a good match.
    2. Federer needs to turn the h2h around, and this is a good chance for him with confidence at a high.

I would much rather see a Federer-Murray final because the crowd would be much more into it and it may be even as boisterous as the Ivanisevic-Rafter final of 2001 that was played on Monday with regular folks in the audience.

And I would love to see Federer kick Murray's butt in front of his home crowd and the British Royal Box, just like Federer did to Nadal in Madrid. Priceless. :)

That wouldn't have happened even if Nadal had played.

i, for one, did not want that final. but i never do.

by the way, op . . . there is no fifth-set tiebreak at wimbledon. so even without rafa's withdrawl, you would not have gotten your wish.

I always want to see new guys step up, whenever possible. So I wouldn't want another Fed/Nadal final. Everybody's saying how the Soderling/Fed final was so bad, but I bet some of those same people wouldn't think it was so bad if Soderling had been the victor instead of Federer.

He's not going to turn it around. He would have to win six straight matches against Nadal. Even in his best years Federer was never able to win more than two in a row.

  16. Just click the "quote" button and look how many spaces there are.

I wouldn't. 3 Wimbeldon finals with both of them is enough for me, and I'm actually getting tired of their matches. I want Fed to face Dimitrov in the final, and that has exactly 0% chance of happenning :)

I wanted either a Nadal/Murray Or Fed/Murray final. The atmosphere in either of these would be incredible.

Naah, i don't wanna watch "Nadal hitting his lefty two-stories-above-the-net forehand to Fed's single backhand for 4.5 hours till Fed makes an error" type of tennis.

    Tired of those 2 pukes.

I would like Tsonga vs Delpo or even Radek / Feli / Mahut ...

I wanted Fed v. Nadal. I'm a fan of both players and am sorry to see Rafa have to bow out. Hope he gets back on his feet quickly.

Expecting Murray to make it through at this point, but we'll see. Not expecting much at all from Djoko, and I don't see Roddick making it past the quarters. But there are others with potential lurking.

I think Safin will go nuts and take out Murray on the other end (if he even gets there). After that, Roddick has a free ride to the final.

some of you people want "new faces", etc
    Let's see what happened:
Federer straight-setted Soderling, Djokovic and Murray. Yes, the Djok match was rather nice, but nothing compared to the Nadal-Federer GS finals. We get ridiculous offense vs ridiculous defense.

Even if Roddick meet Murray in the semis he would have a chance if

A). The pressure on Murray got to him
B.) Roddick serves insanley well and starts blasting forehands
    C.) A combination of both

  32. It's more than one space. Look, I took a screenshot.

Blech I dont want that. I want Murray since atleast there is a real shot he could take down Federer. No way in hell Roddick ever beats Federer in a slam final ever.

I dont even like Murray. In fact he is one of my next least favorite players after Federer. However I want a Murray- Federer final badly if Federer is going to be in the final (and I fully expect he will be) as I want the one with the best shot of beating Federer and that is definitely Murray.
