Hi everyone, I thought I try to do a fun fact thread, and thought to start it after the quarter finals were complete. :)

    Did you know...

Federer is the Oldest Player to reach the RG semi final since Gomez in 1990, and Gomez won the title that year, beating a career slam winner in the final? :)

Tsonga's greatest performances at the Australian Open (2008), Wimbledon (2011) and French Open (2012) - and lost to Djokovic each time? And did you know that Djokovic went onto win the two slams that have already been completed?

Nadal has beaten Almagro in the quarter finals of RG three times, both in even years 2008, 2010, and 2012 and he then went onto win the title without dropping a set, and is looking for a hatrick?

The line up for the RG semi finals is identical to the line at the previous event only a few days ago in Rome, which Nadal won without dropping a set?

Federer now holds the longest consecutive appearances in finals, semi finals, quarter finals, most grand slam titles, and most grand slam match wins, making him Mr Grand Slam?

The last time Nadal wore any shade of the colour pink at RG, he lost unexpectedly to a player who was on a hot streak?

The last time Djokovic saved match points in a grand slam match, he went onto defeat Nadal in the final?

The last time Nadal lost a semi final on clay was in Umag to Moya in 2003?

Feel free to add any other fun bits! :)

and Ferrer is the 2nd oldest since 1990. not long ago, that was something I never thought I'd see at the French Open, two 30 year olds in the semis. Gomez was considered ancient by tennis standards of 1990, now there are so many 30 year olds on tour.

This is the oldest semi lineup at the French since 1969(in terms of average age of the 4 players, Nadal & Djokovic really aren't that young either) and if Ferrer & Fed win their semis, this will be the oldest FO final since 1969.

Don't think that's ever happened in open era, same final 4 of rome at the french.

Federer has a 1-0 masters record while wearing pink, I think it was at Cincinnati.

Federer now holds the longest consecutive number of matches at slam tournaments - 27 (twice).

    Currently Nole has 26.

Nadal has worn pink a number of times post 2009 and won. At least make your facts accurate.

Sorry Bud that hurt your feelings. I will change it a little, just for you!

Did you know that the last time Nadal attempted to defend a RG title while wearing a shade of pink, he was beaten by a player on a hot streak, 09 RG?

    Happy now Bud? :)

where else did Nadal wear pink? Hot pink in summer 2010 where he lost to Murray and Baghdatis at Toronto/Cincinnati..

also, did you know Nadal has won all of his RG titles while wearing blue or green? (or both)
