Well the difference is. One is crack. and the other is electro. The electro is more accurate but i would go with the crank to save money.

well I think he can determine for himself what his main priority is. saving money is good but he might think the money is worth it for other things.

The most obvious difference, is that Electronics are not more accurate but FASTER! Electronics are faster, once you press the button/foot pedal, you can go onto the next string or w/e you need to do. Also this is a constant pull electronic machine so it will be more accurate.

The bad thing about electronics is that if anything goes wrong, it'll be a lot bigger of a hassle, however since you're dealing with Gamma, everything should be fine. Last thing of course, is the price. So you determine if you want to save 5 - 10 minutes and get a bit more accurate of a tension for $300.

If it were me, I'd get the electric, you'll love it.

On the electronic machine, it would be worth checking how the tension head senses the tension and how many lbs. of tension have to be lost before the head begins to repull. This can effect the accuracy of the tension that is pulled. Also, check into how the tension can be checked and recalibrated.
