I bought a second hand racket and the strings that came with it were new pacific polyforce extreme strings strung at 60lbs. I tried it out and it felt good so when it broke, I went down to my local stringer and asked for the same string.

Now the stringer told me he didnt carry the extreme strings and that it wasnt in the catalogue. He told me that my strings (the broken ones that were still in the frame) were pacific x force strings. Which is understandable cause the colour of the strings are the same imo.

So my question is do they play the same? Should I just save the trouble of finding another stringer with the extreme and just string with the xforce since they are the same? Or not?

Please advise me. Thanks a lot!

C'mon guys? I've been browsing the forum and I see that some people do have the same questions but were not adequately answered.

The only one I found was this:
Looking for some more comments? I know people like Rabbit have extensively tried the Pacific Polyester lineup and im hoping maybe you all can give me an answer? Thanks!

X-Force is like TiMo and X-Force Xtreme is like ALU. In other words, Xforce is a firmer hit and Xtreme is more playable. Xforce has better control and spin IMO but Xtreme feels better and plays better at net.

Both of these hold tension better than their Luxilon counterparts. Is there anything else you were curious about?

Haha thanks for the reply! Exactly the person I wanted to hear from. :)

Was gonna pm u but no pm function on these boards?

Anyway I guess i'll stick to the Xtreme then, cause I prefer the extra pop (true?) from the Xtreme. Control type strings like Polyforce Original never really appealed to me. I actually hate the stuff.

    Well thanks!

I like Xtreme, but find the control of Original much to my advantage. I did forget to mention that both of these are also less expensive than their Lux counterparts as well.

Are we perhaps mixing up the strings a bit? There is

    1) Poly Force Original
    2) Poly Force Xtreme
    3) X Force

My comment from another thread that Strateon quoted was regarding #2 and #3 (I liked #2, did not like #3). I've not hit with #1 before. It sounds like Rabbit likes #1 over #2.

I have hit with TiMO (very nice, but my elbow felt a twinge...) and #3 didn't feel anything like it (at least in the first half hour) so I'd have to guess that Rabbit was referring to #1.

Why do I feel dizzy after reading your post? :)

You are correct. I was referring to PF Original and PF Xtreme. Pacific really should name them something less similar.

To be clear (hopefully) I use #1. I like #2, but #1 gives me more of what I need in my setup; control and spin. #2 is ultra comfortable for a poly, but has less control. I will probably try it again though as it is a nice string. #1 & #2 both hold tension better than their Lux cousins.

Haha numbers give me headaches too.

Anyway do u guys know what PF Extreme looks like? (in terms of colour)

Cause when i keep looking at X-Force it looks almost exactly the same as my string so i may have gotten confused.

    Mine is bright translucent orange.

It's a mild light orange color, also translucent.

5 years old this thread but I had a hit with Polyforce Extreme 1.25mm earlier today. Very different string to your modern co-polys like Tourna BHB7 or Genesis Black Magic, but I quite like it. Firmer feeling, not particularly spin orientated but very precise in terms of directional accuracy. It's a string that will suit big hitters. Plays a bit like a more comfortable, more powerful version of Luxilon 4G. I'm surprised that more people don't use it.

As for the color, it looks more salmon pink to me than translucent orange.
