Difference between Tourna Grip and Tourna Tac?

Is Tourna Tac much thinner than Grip?

I ask because I've been using Babolat VS for a while now and switched over to Tourna Grip for a test.

It's so much thicker and uncomfortable, nothing like what I remember the white Tourna Tac being like when I used it a few months ago.

So, is Tourna Tac truly much thinner than Tourna Grip, yet still a bit thicker than VS Grip?

Thanks

Tourna Grip feels a smidge thinner than Tourna Tac, as it has that worn, dry grip feel. In general, stickier grips tend to feel a bit bigger to the hand all things being equal, since well, they're glued to your hands.

Babolat VS is neither Tourna Grip nor Tourna Tac in design. It represents the meidum in the spectrum of dry/absorbant/towel cloth grips and the tacky wet rag feeling grips.

It's also thinner than either ends of the spectrum. VS is known as the thinnest overgrip on the market, though Kirschbaum's Touch-It Thin overgrip is probably as thin or thinner on paper (have a few packages of it, but haven't tried these rag-diddies out yet. Problem with these is the exhoribtant cost of buying in bulk...you better make sure you *really* like it too commit. No reasonable smaller bulk deal offerings like the other manufacturers. Kirschbaum in general though isn't exactly known for giving you great deals, their string reels offer practically no discount when buying in bulk for example.

Tourna Grip is medium thickness but feels on the thinner end of the spectrum due to the dryness of it. Tourna Tac is likely the same thickness, but feels medium thickness due to the tack.

VS feels thin, because it's basically the thinnest overgrip on the market, yet with a somewhat slick feel. Not the grippiest of grips, nor the most absorbant. I don't see much point to it these days, as it doesn't offer much of any tangible advantage over more specialized grips, not very durable either, it's just thin to me. Back in its newer hey day, VS was seen as a tackier overgrip. These days, the tackier grip formulations have really improved. The success of the Yonex Super Grap led the charge, and the rest seemed to have to up their game to keep pace.

Tourna Grip has aged better, and has maintained its popularity better than VS as it fits a speciality niche that many greasy sexy bucket o' fried chicken licking hands can appreciate to this day. Make it any drier and it'd flake out on like dandruff, make it furrier and people would mistake your hand for a werewolf's...talk about fashion faux-pas at the Hilton Paris Tennis Bikini Resort & Spa w. a carwash/valet service...daydreaming about hotties sucks, don't do it; it's bad for you.

You know what I think?

Tourna Tac SUCKS BALLS compared to its predecessor. There used to be a Tourna Tac white up to about a half decade ago, tha was just something else entirely. I thought the current Tourna Tac white was the same thing, but no, it's a complete reformulation. I guess with all the tack crazy trend in the industry, the original Tourna Tac was a lame duck lying in the corner...no one noticed it then, but it was a real gem. Best overgrip EVER in my opinion, NOTHING has remotely EVER come close to matching the majesty of this grip.

It was a complete paradox, it had that somewhat dry, sand paperish feel of Tourna Grip while still keepin' it tacky, but NOT like sticky fly/gnat paper kind of sticky...where you feel like it slows down your wrist action. Too tacky, and you lose that peculialrly nuanced, obsessive-compulsive, man in control here, feel that Rogue Spice, MANLY feel, that tourna grip original in pink gives you...should have stocked up.

It makes you feel thick, but thin...if you know what I mean. It made me feel like the H...is...O. Paradox du jour. If they gave it an international man of mystery name like that, it probably would have competed...but no...unique makes many great products, but their motto is to keep the names generically lame & uninspired.

The new Tourna Tac is horrible if you ask me. It feels like mushed up crayola glue or something.

The old Tourna Tac had the added advantage of feeling thinner to the hand than Tourna Grip, and about as thin as VS. Note: it was only the WHITE version of the oroginal Tourna Tac that was *extraordinarily* special, the blue one was meh, but still pretty decently ok...still WORLD'S better than the current mush-tack crap.

What were they thinking?

Worse, WHY am I the ONLY one who seemed to notice that the new Tourna Tac is a COMPLETE imposter?

I honestly don't feel like I can ever play tennis with joy again since discovering this travesty. Had I known, I would have stocked up. Worse, I thought I was not alone in feeling this way. I thought like all the great ones, like the TV show "Quantum Leap," and Buck Rogers starring Erin Gray, and Agent 99 and that other guy, Gilligan Gone Wild...it would go on forever due to popular demand for QUALITY over utter nonsense, garbage, and trash. Friends, my....

Anyway..., I hope this post stirs interest in the greatest grip of all time that apparently everybody but me never noticed...seriously, it kind of makes me feel like an alien. Am I going crazy, or did NO ONE notice that the greatest grip of all time with ALL the right stuff ANYBODY with any gender prefrence could ask for was right there all along, and NOBODY felt passionate enough about it to SAVE IT. BRING IT BACK! BRING IT BACK! SAVE THE PANDAS! BRING IT BACK!

We the people sinerely request your prompt and immediate attention to this matter, dear friends at Unique...you're a great company, don't blow it now by being stubborn. Listen to me, I mean we...and there will be no further issues. Here is a See's candy piece, the yucky kind with gooey caramel and hard nuds inside...yuck! What were they thinking!!! EVERYBODY knows, you only buy a box of See's Candies for the soft centered but not sticky filling ones with chocolate pimple sprinkles on top...oom, yum, even a former Miss America agrees with me.
