Hey guys, this is a video of me hitting against the wall in april 2013. I just turned 15 and I'm from Brazil. I have been playing since July 2009 (I had just turned 11 when I started playing). Now in 2013 I started competing, and taking the sport more seriously. I'm currently ranked around 20-25 in Rio de Janeiro (there are like 40 people total in my category, I'm pretty low ranked atm but I really haven't played many tournaments, and in the ones I did I wasn't very used to competing yet, and I have improved a lot since) and I go to tennis training twice a week during school weeks, but I play with hitting partners every day. During vacations I train everyday and also hit with partners.

I know you cant tell much of my level by only seeing me hit the wall, but I haven't had the time to make a complete video of me playing with all my strokes in a real court.

Here is the video : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dA7SQsV_zDE

Here are my doubts : What do you think of my strokes? What level am I playing at? Will I get a scholarship when I finish school? If so, what Division? Is there a chance of turning pro from there? Am I capable of getting a sponsor for clothes or shoes or strings or rackets? (For that last question, imagine that I'm in a country where you can easily find sponsor, here in Brazil, athletes are known for having trouble getting sports due to lack of investments, even the best athletes in the country don't have sponsors some time, but just imagine I'm from the USA for example.

Thank you for your time, regards.

you are rather good. at 15 if you keep getting better and improving you should certainly be able to get good enough to play d1 tennis.

dont know anything about getting sponsors.

I can't answer your questions, but your hitting looks great to me. Thanks for posting the video.

It is fairly difficult to completely judge from hitting on the wall, but I like the racquet speed you seem to generate fairly easily with your forehand. You might actually want to bend your knees ocassionally. Lol. And, in the do what I say, not what I do department, on you backhand, let your hands drop some before you start the forward swing to be able to generate some more top spin. See videos of Djokovic.

Yeah, my coach always tells me to bend my knees, its one of my problems, and in fact I do have trouble generating spin on my backhand. Thanks for the reply!

Tennis is fun but if I were you I'd not get my hopes up on making a professional career of it. Don't forget to study and be a responsible person. You should get into software development or become an arborist.
