    Hi All,

    Wonder if anyone can explain the following to me? I noticed on the packaging that came with my Yonex RDX 300 MP the following recommended string tensions:

    4 1/8 --> 50-60lbs
    4 1/4 --> 50-60lbs
    4 3/8 --> 55-65lbs
    4 1/2 --> 55-60lbs

    Why should the recommended tension vary depending on the grip size????

    Many thanks for any help.

    The anomaly seems to be 4 3/8 --> 55-65lbs. I guess we are the biggest hitters needing the tightest strings to keep our magnum baseline shots in bounds.

    Sorry Hoodjem, that's a typo on my part which I have corrected. Both 4 3/8 and 4 1/2 should read 55-65lbs

    Actually, I own the 4 3/8 version and string at 55/57 toward the lower end of the recommended range. So my real question was whether I could go lower than this (I hit mainly topspin but not with massive swings) without messing with the performance characteristics of the racquet in other ways...
