The results conform with something that Tony Trabert said at the '86 USO; maybe you remember it. Alice Marble had said that the finalists, Navratilova and Sukova, would have "wiped me out," as Trabert related it. Pat Summerall asked him if he agreed, and he said yes; he mentioned that Navratilova and Sukova were fitter, for one.

I thought that he should have been asked then whether the same was true for his own generation, which was not that much removed from Marble; whether Lendl or Mecir would have wiped him out. It would be interesting to have his answer, but according to your results it seems the question would be simpler to answer with the women than with the men.
