I recently started playing with Yonex RDS 003 with 1/8 grip. The recomended tension range is 55-65 for all but 1/8 grip, which is 50-60. Not realizing this I ordered racquets strung with luxilon ace 18 at 63. I'm mostly clueless about all this tennis tech. as I've been out for a couple of decades and now I don't really know why I ever quit! After discovering the dead poly problem the hard way (sore arm and shoulder and too many short balls!) and thinking I need to take better care of myself I restrung with 17 duraflex at 58 and have been hitting for a week. YUCK. Too bouncy. I'm back to my one and only fresh poly 63 setup for now and planning to try some 18 multis. Any explanation for the different recommended range or suggestions for where to start tension-wise with the other strings?
