I am thinking about switching to Direct. Is the Tennis coverage good? Dont they have something special when it comes to the slams? Thanks

They have the 6-courts at once thing for all the majors during the first week. It's pretty cool if you have the time to enjoy it. They also carry tennis channel but I think you have to subscribe to a Sports HD Xtra package to get it.

DirecTV is sweet during the slams like jamauss said. They have like coverage from 6 or 7 different courts that you can't even get with Tennis Channel with Dish Network or Comcast, etc.

Do you need a specific pkg to get this or will the one that includes tennis channel include these 6 matches?

I don't quite remember, but it is either part of one of the pricier packages or part of a separate sports package.

Nope, just the most basic DirecTV package. Their basic package doesn't even have the tennis channel on it so between ESPNs coverage and the DirecTV coverage you should be good to go. Channels 701-707 (I believe)

Yeah, you only need their basic package to get the 6 courts on one screen thing - like YTC said channels 701-707 or something like that. ESPN2 airs a lot of AO matches as well (including the final I think)

    Yes

I moved apartments just to get Direct TV. It is well worth it. They have a special now and you get a DVR and can surf the net with it. Definitely better than cable.

Last year I watched most of the matches live on espn3 (yes, I got no sleep for 2 weeks) and the ones I didn't get to see were on replay. So no worries.

How do you surf the net with it? I just had mine installed this past week.
