Djokovic had much better first serve percentage 77 versus 54, much better winners-unforced errors ratio 39-19 versus 20-18, did not allow a break point while Nadal allowed 5 of which Bolleli converted one.....

Nadal gave up fewer games. Stats are misleading. Only matters how you play on the critical points of a match.

    Few things:

    1. Clarky21 will soon be here to tell us how horribly Nadal played and that he has no chance of getting to the final let alone winning the title.

    2. Everyone else with any shred of intelligence or tennis knowledge already knows that Nadal is getting to the final in straight sets and possibly winning the whole thing in straight sets or losing one set in the worst case.

    3. Nadal is clearly still peaking since he is about to get to 5th straight slam final for the first time in his career, in straight sets no less! His previous record was only 3 finals.

    4. Kudos for Djokovic beating peak Nadal 7 straight times and kudos to 30 year old and 4 years past his prime Federer beating peak Nadal twice.

Bolleli broke Nadal? Didn't know that.

I assume he was broken right back (at love, probably)

Nadal served a double-fault to get broken. 3 double-faults overall. Hard to keep concentration.

Nope. Nadal is just a weak player who has to resort to gamesmanship to try and win.

Nadal was in snooze mode and still routined his opponent 2,2 and 1.......
He is fully aware that he doesn't have to be awake until the semi's.

Not that I have many doubts about Nadal winning RG this year again, and still I can't help but shake my head about your number 2 statement there... my tennis knowledge still tells me that every match has first to be played...

Stats alone means nothing. Also, there's no way you can judge their chances based on their 1st round performances.

Bolelli was serving for the first and third set against Murray last year but choked miserably both times. It seemed like he could do some good stuff otherwise.
    First rounds are useless though.

While it's easy to make comparisons at this point, I don't think it's possible. It's an easy time for top seeds to practice against seeds they don't feel threatened by.

I think Rolaids played better. He had better stats than Nadal did throughout. Not surprising though because Rolaids is going to win RG.

It's only the first round, you can't read too much into it.

The players aren't going to exude that much energy and mental concentration when there are still so many rounds to go.
