18 mm beam! This will be the first racket I order without demoing it first.

    I'm looking forward to it.

    Yeah that's very old news...

    yes automatix but is strange...
speed pro on chinese site is 335gr and 16*19,what it doesn't appear in the list.
where is speed mp? and specs?
maybe: speed pro 16/19 and 18*20
+speed mp + elite and lite?

We shall see... I'm not that eager for names... but specs is another story! I wonder... 18mm constant beam and a 98 sq. inch head? It will have to be a bit stiff to maintain stability...

I'm not in a hurry... I've already acquired my main racquet and am set up for the next 3 years (4 frames, 2 grommet sets per frame... plus 2 frames and grommets coming sometime in June/July).

The way Head measures their racquet headsizes means the 98 of Speed Pro is actually 94 I reckon.

    I thought it's more like:
    100-> 98-97
    98 -> 95-94

That still makes the racquet a 94-95 square inch frame with an 18mm beam... We'll see in time what Head came up with...

Also, in another thread someone claimed that the new Speed Pro has a 370 swingweight- not sure if that is correct.

As bad as Novak is doing with the frame, I can't believe Head would even bring it out. Could be very short lived.

Head should go back to their old frames, they were must better products.

Yeah, Novak said that he got used to the racquet after a while, but I think that it is only hurting his game. I know that a lot of people are going to say that he was using a Head racquet all along, only with Wilson paint, but this is definitely a new racquet that is not good for him. He hasn't won anything (I believe) since Shanghai. He should definitely switch back to Wilson, or whatever he was using before.

This supports claims that Novak changed rackets, same mold but different weighting, and different ie teflon grommets.

    http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/showthread.php?t=251209

"Djokers new Head: 360 grams, 371 SW, 32 cm balance and 51 flex. "

And with a racket that is going to be sold with a SW of 370 then this may be his actual racket.

What I am confused about is why would he choose a higher swing weight, static weight, and lower flex????

Why not just keep it the same, do remember that Novak is the one that decided the specs for the racket not HEAD, HEAD only chose the paint job.

You can't play a basline game with a racket like that, that racket is made for S&V on very fast courts.

Signing up Djokovic at the begining of the year, but not relasing his frame until June or whenever, is that s weird marketing move by Head? Or can anyone provide the rational behind?

Maybe they thought that they'll wait with the releasing of the frame after the Australian Open and some hardcourts on which Djoker plays his best... if he won the AO again it would be a great boost in interest with the frame...

I wonder why they didn't make him play with a blacked out frame.. Making him play with the new frame, one would think that the racket is ready for the production stage. Waiting this long with releasing the racket is bad marketing imo.. all the hype will die.

Another strange thing is that here in Europe, where I think Head sells most of its rackets, the competition leagues are about to start. In June/July it's summer here and everybody is playing competition or is playing tournaments. Not a good time to switch rackets.

Whole timing of releasing this racket is of imo...

Head probably wanted to capitalize on Djokovic's popularity before he has a chance to retire from matches at the French, W, and USO.

That or maybe they want to break their incredibly repetitive and predictable pattern of releasing racquets/"new technology" every two years, starting with the radical and finishing with the prestige.

There's no way that Head is going to market a racquet with a 370+ SW. That's like the limited edition Boris Becker model and would have a pretty small audience.

Havn't lots of players switched to head and dropped their ranking? Off the top of my head there's Ferrero, Djokovic, Ljubicic and Mauresmo in the women's game. Anyone else?

Mauresmo never really switched to Head. She is still using her Dunlop but with a paint job of the Head MG Radical MP.

Mauresmo switching paint jobs had nothing to do with her drop in ranking

I'm pretty sure the pro is 100 square inches and the MP is 98 square inches. The pro has a 16 X 19 string pattern just like any other head "Pro" racket and the MP has the 18 x 20 string pattern.

So is this line a replacement of the Radical series?

If not, what is the main difference between the MicroGel series and the YouTEK series? Will the YouTek series be stiffer or something?

Probably questions which no one has answers to, but I thought I'd give it a try
