Yeah, he's totally picked his game up now. Federer has little chance. Murray, however, can hang with him if he shows up.

"Creeping Death" is an appropriate song for the final.

He's playing Ferrer right now.... quite a bit different than Murray/Federer. Level of play one day does not equal level of play several days later versus a much better opponent.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves here. Murray can take everything Djokovic throws at him and "push" it back. Sometimes even hit it back with interest. He just has to show up.

That's assuming Ferd doesn't nip Murray in the semis and give Nole an easy final.

Even if Fed wipes out Murray in the semis, he will get destroyed in the final. Nole the Executioner from Belgrade.

When Novak destroyed Ferrer at the USO SF, everyone thought there was no chance for Murray. So what happened there?

Novak has never looked this dominant before. He's like Nadal at the 2008 FO. Unbeatable.

Tornado like winds!! with chairs blowing on the court and all sorts it actually cost Novak the first set v Ferrer in that Semi

I do no think there are Tornados in Melbourne now or wind turbines so Novak should be fine :)

Keep dishing out the excuses. Murray beat Novak fair and square. The wind had died down in the 5th and Murray took it from Djokovic aswell as his legs.

Don't be so sure that it's a foregone conclusion.

If Wawrinka can take him to five and lose a controversial march, he's not unbeatable. He looked it today but Ferrer is a match up that Novak has no problems with.

It is not an excuse it is a fact! Murray won fair play to him but the Semi final was a ridiculous state of affairs surely even a Murray **** can see that! chairs being blown onto court?? really they were not tennis conditions :)

It is not a foregone conclusion but Novak is a heavy favourite against Federer or Murray.

Congrats to Nole on his 4th AO and 6th overall slam. After today's practice session with Ferrer, he will now have 2 days to prepare and rehearse his post-match celebration for Sunday while Murderer still has to slug it out tmr.

Pity Isner wasn't around to stop Nole with his monster serve at the SF stage because we all know what happened at last year's IW SF.

Evne Isner can take pace of the serve and although the wind is an issue the moevement he is able to generate would make the serve even more unplayable for sure.

If only Ferrer had a serve half as good as John we would have had a more competetive match today

What was a fact is that the wind was blowing on both sides of the court. What are you saying that Murray had Jedi powers and shielded himself from the winds?

If either Murray or Federer win in 3 tomorrow they might have a chance, a slight one. But I think they should give the trophy to Djokovic already... This isn't gonna end well for either of the other two.

The fact is that Murray is a more defensive player than Berdych and Novak and wind played into his hands because attacking player can not set up properly and where the ball bounces becomes a lottery Murray was able to revert to his old passive way in those conditions and it worked fair play to him for doing what he had to do, and I have no problem with a bit of wind but those conditions were crazy and not fit for professional tennis even DJokovic complained about his semi

Haven't you seen it too many times by now that simply because player A looks fabulous against player B today, this is no guarantee that A will look so against player C tomorrow? I have seen it so many times when a player looked clearly to be THE on-form player who was absolutely gunning his way through a tournament, only to get vanquished inexplicably around the next corner.

He didn't destroy him. Ferru took the first set in about half an hour - I was there. The conditions changed and went against him, and a lot of people believe that if they'd been playing on Armstrong at the same time MAndy and Berdych were playing their semi, in the same conditions, Ferru would have been in that final.

Calm down people. Ferrer is a mug that's all. Murray/Fed will pose a greater challenge than Ferrer, but yeah Djoko remains the favorite.

I think Fed-Murray semi will be a tankathon to avoid humiliation from Nole in the finals. Remains to be seen who can convincingly tank :)

I have faith in Roger Federer, the magician, untill he retires. I won't never count against him. Especially after RG 2011 and W 2012. In any case, AO 2013 is NOT as slow as RG 2011 and still Roger won..

So anything can happen though Novak is the favorite

Well Fed has never lost to Djoko in a final of a major. At the same time it'd suck if he was a runner up to him

Actually you know what? Djoko is going for tying the record, so Fed will likely want to have it in his hands preventing Djoko from that. Fed will win the match...hopefully

From what I saw of the SF, Ferrer's shots were lacking depth.

SF in Doha + W in Auckland + 5-set QF = Poor showing in SF.

I don't think this changes anything regarding the final. Nole was the favorite anyway, especially with his draw.

Pretty much. `The scare he got in the 4th round didnt actually make him more vurnerable, it awoke the sleeping beast and made him unstoppable. Him losing the final in his current form on this surface would be a bigger upset than Serenas loss at this point.

Ark, you seem to forget that the wind hampered Murray too. In the semi against Berdych, the conditions were almost as bad as in the other semi. Murray had managed to convert a break point in the 1st set, when the wind blew his cap off! The point had to be replayed and Murray went on to lose that set. He might have gone through in straights but for thw wind!

I recall that in the 2009 IW final, Nadal blitzed Murray during a raging windstorm on court. Nobody said afterwards that Nadal had only won because of the wind though! The conditions are the same for all players and it is part of their ability to play by being able to adapt to differing conditions. Djokovic is no exception!

I mean djokovic would be the fav no doubt but id still give fed/murray their chances. For ffs..if Wawrinka can take him to 5 Fed and murray have chances to get it done in 3 or 4

The excuse making for Murrays U.S Open win, for those who keep doing it, have gotten old, redundant, tiresome, and desperate. Just drop it already. It seems everyone but Federer has an excuse for their slam wins on Planet TW though.
