That's Maria Sharapova in her Nike Vapor S2 sneakers, but there isn't any logo at all on the shoes. I know it's obvious what they are, but the guy is contracted with Adidas. It's probably just for the grass court season.

Personally Adidas have never felt right on my foot, but plenty of people swear by them. It is very interesting to see this guy go to the Cage's. Maybe hes trying to get in Marias good graces and try to score :)

Maria by the way does look very nice in the pic. It appears shes got a little more booty than I remeber seeing as well as nice thigh muscles. But once you get close enough to her she will always have that snobby stuck up nose in the air look about her.

I'm surprised by this sudden lack of faith in the grass Barricade from Djokovic and Murray considering plenty of people have been wearing these for the past couple of years.

You actually see this happen a lot in the sports world outside of tennis. I know in College Football teams are often contracted with certain sponsors for their footwear. Players are allowed to wear other brands but they have to remove any identifying marks, such as a Nike Swoosh. This however is the first time I have seen it in tennis.

Guess the Nike's aren't working for him either. What was Safin wearing on his feet?

Read the article someone linked to, there's not much they can do if the logos are covered up and they aren't happy with what adidas are providing.

That article was impressive in its lack of tennis knowledge:

"...tennis players' ... most important equipment..." - sneakers? Uh, I would go with RACKET! But maybe that's why I didn't make it to #1... :)

The pic of the Nike's was nice - but those aren't grass court shoes. If Djokovic had worn them he would have slipped, fallen, and probably broken multiple bones.

I do respect Adidas (although I only buy Nike :) ) - there was no way they could make a change to their grass court soles fast enough - and let their players use something else instead of risking injury.
