That's horrible news. Novak should pull out if the situation is indeed as dire as the article indicates. :(

    Hopefully his father recovers

Novak may tank the match today, we will see. I remember last year, Novak wasn't very bright in Bercy too. It is all going wrong at the end of the year, isn't it?

If the article is correct and Novak's father is gravely ill, how can Novak play in any tournament? Who can play in a tournament if he knows his father is gravely ill? (unless you are estranged from your father.)

This is awful news - hopefully Zag's latest update is on the money and that Srdan makes a full recovery.

It's good that he's actually going to recover. I'm glad it's not fatal.

Damn, hopefully it isn't anything serious and if Djoko is still playing, I doubt it is.

He isn't the first and won't be the last. If you actually added something tennis-related, it would be okay. You just come with stupid statements without content, analysis or argumentation, and it wouldn't hurt to show that you at least find this sad for mr. Djokovic or something.

Ignore list. Works like a charm. And I only started to use it late this year, Saves me so much time about getting on nonsensic arguments instead of enjoying tennis discussions.

Actually it would hurt, since I'm here to talk tennis, not to talk about some stranger's dad. So the issue is how the father's illness will impact the tennis world. That is my focus 100%.

Very tasteless to say something like that if someone's father is seriously ill.

Imo it doesn't have much to do with him being a Nadal fan.
    He's just a horrible troll.

Good to hear, but staph infections can be very nasty and dangerous too. They're often resistant to antibiotics. Hope he makes a full and speedy recovery.

From the little I know about sepsis, it sounds like it's really hard to make a full recovery. Scary stuff. Hopefully he was strong and healthy before this illness struck and that will help him fight it off.

I wish there were a way to know the actual situation rather than relying on these Serbian media reports. If the father actually is septic and is in critical condition, I really don't know how Djoko is managing to play. Sepsis is incredibly serious. I wonder if the media is playing fast and loose with the term. Either way, having to be transported to Munich is probably not good I guess...

I'm sure Djokovic would fly back at once to be by his dad's side if he was in any danger. He surely wouldn't be able to continue playing at the O2. Who would?

If he's okay to continue playing, then that suggests to me his dad's condition is manageable and not life-threatening, at least so far. But I'm quite sure Novak is being kept fully informed and up dated by his nearest and dearest.
