They all seem to wear fitted or kinda tight. I however like my adidas/Fila/prince/genesis in XL where a Large fits me just right. Wearing an XL instead of a L gives me extra free room to swing without the sleeves grabbing.

Does anyone else like the looser shirts?

Any pictures of pros that wear larger sizes?

Agassi did love his shirts wide in the body. He also really turned his body with his groundies. I wear XXL shirts because 1. I have a long upper body 2. I don't like my shirt sticking to my body. Let the air flow through and keep me cool and dry..

Tight fit is now currently fashionable as we are still in a neo-mod era, although we keep getting told a change is coming.

In tennnis however the tops are getting tighter and the shorts shorter.

We all wore tight shorts in the 80's and 90's lol.. They still were not tight and really short like in the 70's though. Tennis might have to thank the FAB FIVE from the university of Michigan for the long short being used in sport.

Berdych is wearing a short that is much shorter than other players on tour.. Maybe H&M knows something that other brands don't yet.

I wear basic cotton Nike shirts with the swoosh and the dri-fit shorts at 7" inseem. The dri-fit shirts are too tight on the body. I did start using the longer socks like the pro's wear in January and really like the feel of them.

I like the more fitted feel that shirts are getting, on myself a. I think a lot of guys tend to think their clothes fit but are actually too big for them. Obviously comfort factors in but fit and size are two different things

Roddick also did sweat like he was in the shower too. You really don't see pro athletes sweat like Roddick.

I usually go through three or four shirts in a match and during a hitting session. I also change my bandana about the same too.

Gut.. off topic for a second. How do you like the Genesis Black Magic string?. I get a good deal on Lux from Wilson and not looking for a change.. I was offered Genesis Spin X in red 17G to try out. I checked out reviews of the company and it seems like Black Magic would be more user friendly. What is their player package like for strings?.

This is true. It's worse in the US from what I've seen and especially bad when it comes to athletic apparel. I think some people have to learn the difference between "can I put this on?" vs "does this actually fit my physique?"

He was also constantly readjusting his shirts after every point because they didn't fit on his much smaller frame not to mention the sleeves were almost long enough to touch his elbows at one point.

Not here to change anyone's mind, but fitted has its benefits IMHO.

Roddick was adjusting his shirts because he was dripping in sweat all the time. As for his smaller frame... He was 200lbs and solid for a tennis player. Nadal and Federer are the same height and weight.. 6'1" 185lbs.. They look nothing a like...

    Hi

Because I mostly use gut mains, I like a round smooth poly so it wont eat through the gut.

You really should try Black magic just once as it really is a great all around poly

As for player packages I have no idea. You need to contact them as its on a case by case basis.

I remember when Federer used to wear loose shirts. I guess the style now are fitted shirts. Not a fan because now when I buy a large the length would be too long for me. And mediums are too tight.

 I'm talking compared to the polos (not if his frame is actually smallish)...The guy was hefty but he wasn't built like a linebacker...
Someone commented that he must have been grabbing shirts in the XL range. The size of those things seriously fit him like a blanket with arm holes and a collar cut out IMO.

He very much owns that baggy shirt distinction.

Nadal whenever he has a clear headband is impressive. You always have a close-up slomo view of his sweat dripping from his nose when serving.

Isn't H&M like Uniqlo? They don't really make tennis clothing but use the players as a "walking billboard". I saw it somewhere here so don't quote me on it.

I don't know anything about Uniglo and what they are known for. H&M isn't known for tennis clothing. The only player that I know is Berdych that wears them. Berdych isn't much of a billboard for H&M.. H&M's chothes for Berdych usually has a white logo on the shorts and shirts that you can't see. Unlike the bigger lines that have the logo everywhere.

About 6 years ago I was trying on shirts in the Nike store in London, and I was inbetween sizes. The staff told me to go with the one that fit more closely because the Dryfit would work more effectively.

That may help explain why gear is more closer fitting these days.

H&M and Uniqlo is the same kind of concept, just a clothing store that also makes athletic/tennis gear but not really geared specifically towards tennis or any other sport. With the exception of Uniqlo having special tennis gear "designed for Novack"

H&M has some plain no logo tennis polos if you look on their website. Not too sure if I would give them a try. But the prices for H&M tennis gear is about 1/2 the price of Uniqlo. I still want to hit the Uniqlo store in downtown SF and see what they got.

Here is what H&M's polo looks like

Two main reasons for tighter fitting gear. One is fashion, the other is that players are more athletic than ever and the brands show this off.
