In other major sports, baseball, football, basketball, boxing, mma, the pro athletes always wear cups. Bowlers and golfers don't wear cups so I was wondering if serious tennis players wear cups.

I doubt it for singles. If anyone needed it, it would likely be edberg and mac because they were at the net the most and often in the line of fire.

Maybe doubles players today wear them.

I play a lot at the net and use a safety sunshade over my glasses. thats probably 1 step away from using a cup :)

many baseball players don't wear em, even at the major league level.

I played in college and about half the team wore them, pitchers and catchers for sure and most infielders but many middle infielders didn't wear em either

    almost no outfielders wore them.

I rarely wore mine, even when I played third base a lot of the time

It might be a good idea. I've gotten hit down there once, luckily it was more like a tap, eventhough thoser sometimes seem like they hurt more. Then yesterday I got hit just below and practically caught the ball inbetween my legs. I hate running away or ducking when I'm certain I can at least get my racquet on it.

Only you would ask this Rickson LOL! Heck no bro - you need to go cupless and keep your spider senses more aware! What is the fun in knowing you can keep your racket head down, and not take a nut shot? Keep that racket up!

man, in little league my friend got a line drive right into the sack, thankfully he wore a cup and he said it didn't hurt at all.

i've been hit in the chest hard with tennis balls and they do hurt. i don't think many players wear cups, i don't and none of my friends do.

According to MLB player Torii Hunter in an interview, he does not wear a cup because he has "too much down there".

I haven't seen a SINGLE professional basketball player who wears a cup. In fact, no one ever offered me to wear a cup. No one even MENTIONED a cup!

In Argentina, no one has ever wore a cup. Not even foreing american players, some ex NBA players wore cups. One would guess it'd be a habit for them, but nope.

NBA players do not wear cups. Athletic supporters yes, cups no. If they did, everytime they got generally doinked in the nads, it would not be a major production as it is.
