Do usta tourneys make you pay in advance

    i ask because the 3 i played last year, i showed up and paid

    Now on the page to register, deadline 1 hour, on the last page
    its making me pay by cc or debit card i guess for 23 for the 4.0 singles im registering for

    Wondered if thats a local thing or usta

    I would pay to see you play 4.0 singles...

    However, in Australia it is common practice for Tennis Australia sanctioned tournaments to require payment in advance and has been for the last couple of years.

    I think USTA use basically the same software, so they probably do the same thing.

    Most times you have to pay in advance. If you register online with Tennislink, you have to pay in advance. If you write the tournament director, he may be willing to add you without registering and then get your money at the door, but that's up to him.

    I think you should have to pay double. Just sayin'.

    I've always paid when signing up via tennislink. At my home club, on occasion, I have told the desk that I'd like to play and they gave me the option to pay then or when I show up. It probably varies by the site and depends on the size of the draw. I normally prefer to pay in advance so I don't have to worry about it.
