    Hi -

I'm using the Lux strings as part of a hybrid setup and the other strings will be Gosen Sheep Micro at 58lbs.

Any experience dropping the Lux tension by 5% or 10%? That would leave me at either 55lbs or 52lbs for the Luxilon half. If you have tried either or both, I'd like to know your experience.

    Thanks,

    Jeff

depends what you were using before. go down 5% and if it still feels too stiff then 10%. i went down by 10% on my first string job with alu and it got like a trampoline after a few sets. 5% worked much better.

When I was using ALU last year I went down 10%. I would start their and then make the adjustments.

DEFINITELY drop the string tension with the Luxilon. I wouldn't be suprised if I found out that most of the people that complain of arm problems with the Luxilon did not drop the tension. It feels awful when strung really tight.

I would drop the tension 4-6 lbs. I used Luxilon with Wilson NXT for a while, but after just a few hours, the Lux totally ate through it.

Now I use 100% Luxilon at 54 lbs, with nylon I would have gone for 59 lbs. With lower tension the stuff feels pretty nice for me.
