    Hi
I seem to be out of breath even if i don't run much at the start of a match.
    Do u ever experience that?

check the Health forum, that's where such questions should be posted

are you having a min 6 min warmup (running, stationary bike) before starting the match?

are you doing any cardio? check my signature for ideas:

Nerves. Wears off after the first couple of games, usually.

You may be forgetting to breath during the point. Exhale on contact with the ball and try to breath when your opponent is hitting the ball too. Relax during play....

Also at the start pre-game your heart rate is probably 80ish get into the game do a few quick lunges ... and your heart rate will probably jump to about 140 ish. This sudden 60bpm jump can sometimes make you FEEL like you are out of breath and that your heart is beating very fast. This might be what it is if its only at the start.

I notice this all the time when I don't warm up slowly and it actually feels like my heart is going faster at 140 than when it is actually going at 175 [I have a Heart Rate Monitor].

i find this to happen to me when i'm a bit nervous. one simple way that may help is to take 2 long relaxing breaths right before each point.

It is probably nerves. You might want to do a little cardio before a match. I used to jog a mile or two before playing.
