Some polys go dead pretty fast (Luxilon), Do any of you guys cut out the ones that don't lose tension as fast (sppp, cyberflash, blue gear, big ace), or do you wait until they break always.

I just usually cut them out. I rarely break polys since I change them usually after 5-7 hitting sessions.

I usually cut them out. But on the extremely rare occasion I break them. I usually cut them out after 1-2 weeks of solid hitting but I will string up fresh rackets for tournaments.

I usually plan to use them until they break, but I get so fed up with them once the tension is gone that I end up restringing...

our syn gut crosses usually break before the poly mains lose their effectiveness so I rarely have to cut out dead poly.

I haven't broken a poly ever, so I cut them, or my 2nd type of string breaks first, then cut. Pretty much the only way i'll break it is if it's 18g.

azn pride, yo! i just wait for the strings to break but usually that happens not too long after they go dead. sometimes they take longer to break and when they go dead i start spraying my groundstrokes all over the place and it kind of sucks.

If they are 16 I cut them out...anything 17 and above will break before they are dead for me (<15hrs).

I've broken a couple/three sets. But usually, cut them out when they get sawed pretty good. Luxilon used to get me about 10 hours, Pacific is considerably longer.

Cut them out. No point in waiting for them tp break since I usually don't break strings.

I cut them out. I have yet to see poly that breaks, or wait that long.

I usually wait until they break. I have 4 frames that I rotate & I generally break strings 1-2 times a week. I don't notice that much of a difference in terms of outcomes (dead strings don't cause me to lose points), but I do notice a difference in feel. I feel as though dead strings are hard on my arm, since they're less forgiving. I think that once I get my new machine, I will make it a priority to restring more frequently.

So do those of you who re-string after X number of hours, actually keep track of how much you use each frame? Or are you just estimating?
