I do even though it is difficult. I compost all of my biodegradable waste and the rest - plastic, paper, glass, aluminum, cardboard, batteries, etc, everything goes to the recycling center. Most of my friends do as well. As well as my family. It's nice having the support system to do it as they give you tips, etc.

They won't take tennis ball plastic cannisters! They said there was only one place in the ******* that deals with that type of plastic and it's somewhere in Iowa or Ohio?

My poll might have a flaw. People who don't recycle probably won't even answer the poll!

I don't actually know Al Gore to cast that vote, so I didn't. But we recycle everything possible, after all my home is in Germany where recycling reaches near religious fervor, plus you will find yourself fined if you do not comply with recycling standards. Yet that's not the reason we do it, we do it because it should be done, and it's simply a matter of learning how to, practicing it and doing it every time. It's not a bother. It's a necessity.

Yes, because I like it when dolphins don't get their mouths stuck in a plastic 6-pack soda holder.

That's rediculous why "they" won't take tennis ball canisters ttbrowne; it's a plastic that's coded 'PETE' #1 (which is polyethelene teraphalate) which is--even in this depressed economy--a marketable commodity both foreign and domestically.

    on-topic: yes, I recycle.

I recycle everything. Mind you, it all goes into one bag and someone else seperates the plastic, paper, metal, etc., but I recycle everything I can.

I answered/voted & I don't recycle. I save my cans for my young nephew so he can recycle. I give second-hand stuff to Goodwill or AMVETS. Peolpe at the Dump recycle what you don't, at least where I live.

I didn't used to,but after a trip to the recycling center I learned that they actually do recycle the materials and actually were able to reduce the taxes collected for waste management by selling the recyclable materials. Good for Republicans and Dems!

I'm a big reduce, reuse, recycler.

    I also consciously down-consume.

Where I live you have to pay to recycle items. I do send old clothing etc. to the goodwill but when it comes to garbage it all is trash as far as I'm concerned. Even if it was free unless they made it MUCH, MUCH easier to do I wouldn't.
