Do you sit down after the first game?
I hardly sit down during a match...I drink something standing up.
I never sit down really. I just get to the other side of the court asap.
I sit down only after the set is over.
only when peeing
Nope. Hardly sit down at all while playing sets.
Quite a few years back, I played an early morning (7:30) match in a tournament. Mind you, I'm not a morning person at all and don't usually play well, or even function well at all (mentally or physically). I was jumping rope on every single changeover in an attempt to wake up my brain/body.
I'm with you. If I played on red clay and the points were all 20+ shot rallies, I probably would. On hardcourts matches are a breeze compared to my practices.
I would have liked to have seen your opponent's expression. Did you win?
I believe that I lost in the next round to an Open player from Germany. The tournament desk gave me a hard time (in jest) about the rope skipping. It might have appeared that I was insulting my opponent with my "wake up" effort.
I only sit after the 2nd set and then only if I am changing my socks - Otherwise I simply kneel to get a drink and go to my next position.
I never sit down after the first game (that isn't allowed anyway, but wouldn't if I could). I rarely sit down during in-set change-overs unless I'm getting pounded and need a new strategy.
If I lose a set I'll generally sit and think about what to do better. If I win the set I just keep going.
