I was recruited by R club and P club to play their Intercounty B team. However, I'd like to join D club Intercounty B team as it is closer.

Today I played single match with a 4.5 Intercounty B female player at D club and I won the tie-break. I lead 4:1, 5:2 and she came back to 5:5 then lead 6:5. I broke back to 6:6. In tie-break, I lead 6:1 and won 7:3.

The majority of D club B team players are around 4.5. I rated myself around 3.5. The winning gave me some confidence.

I have a try-out this Tuesday at D club. Any advice for me? Thanks.

you won't make the D club B team if you're only a 3.5 AND a new member. FYI: the D club B team won the B central last year and earned spot as an A team this year, but D club board did not allow it because it would mean 2 x A teams and no B team

    Go with R or P

My coach rated me as high 4.0 or 4.5. Are you from D club? Their rating is a little bit different. I hit balls with a 2.5 lady there and I think she is only 1.0-1.5.

Are you S. T.? Is it a unwritten rule that new members are less likely to play for Intercounty team?

no I'm not S.T., however I've only just learned that the B team's best woman is not playing this year, so the team needs a strong replacement - maybe you'll get the spot. In previous years the team has always had more players than they need, so people play 2 out of every 3 weeks. If you're a 4.0/4.5 you may very well get a spot. Good luck.
